“You don’t belong.”
No words whispered in anger have ever rung more true.
They’re the Kings of Brayshaw with the world at their feet, destined for greatness and in need of control. I’m the girl from the gutter with nothing to offer and as defiant as they come.
They say it doesn’t matter, that I’m one of them now, and nothing could ever change that. Not even me, should I dare try. But they’re wrong.
They underestimate how far I’ll go to protect them.
Trouble is coming…and they have no idea.

Trouble At Brayshaw High is the the highly anticipated follow up to Boys of Brayshaw High, and should be read only after having read book one. This is book two in a three book series.

Trouble At Brayshaw High is the the highly anticipated follow up to Boys of Brayshaw High, and should be read only after having read book one. This is book two in a three book series.

Trouble At Brayshaw High is the second book in the Brayshaw High series written by Meagan Brandy and is told from the point of view of Maddoc and Raven.

If you haven’t read Boys Of Brayshaw High yet, I highly recommend you do so before diving into Trouble At Brayshaw High. This is a continuation and picks up immediately where the cliffhanger left off. Raven has made a deal with the devil in order to protect Maddoc, Captain, and Royce.

Now Raven has to live with the choices she’s made, but Raven’s never been one to follow orders, and her blackmailer is soon to come to the realization that Raven cannot be controlled.

Raven is still the top queen and most feared girl especially when it comes to any woman coming near her boys.

But throughout the novel, Raven uncovers secrets that should have never been buried and not only is her life on the line, but her future with Captain, Maddoc, and Royce is soon to be threatened.

My thoughts:

From the very beginning of this series, I’ve been intrigued by Raven and her background. When I first read the Boys of Brayshaw High, I loved her feisty spirit, but throughout the first novel I couldn’t help but want to see more of a vulnerable side to her character. Meagan Brandy didn’t let me down on delivering a tad bit more vulnerability with this novel. Not only when it comes to Raven’s character, but also Maddoc’s character.

I loved the softer and swoony side of Maddoc that has developed throughout this novel. I loved the emotion and his way of pouring out his heart and soul to Raven. However, Raven has never loved before and doesn’t know how to grasp the concept of loving another individual. All she’s known is pain when dealing with others. So there is a lot of inner confusion where her feelings are concerned. This was really sad. I just wanted her to embrace the love Maddoc was showing her. But being a neglected child puts you on a different scale than everyone else.

The Maddoc, Captain, and Royce scenes where my absolute favorite! I loved this brotherhood that they share. I simply can’t get enough of them. I love them as a trio but I also love them independently. Captain is the thoughtful soft hearted boy of the group, Maddoc is the hot headed, overprotective bad boy of the group, and Royce is the jokester with a short fuse. But you fuck with these boys and you get the horns, and if you mess with Raven you get the horns and hellfire rained down all around you.

I really enjoyed the writing style of this novel. I felt Trouble At Brayshaw High’s storyline was better thought out than Boys of Brayshaw High. The flow was better which made for a great ‘sitting on the edge of my seat’ page turner. I do have one thing to say though, I want a little bit more vulnerability coming from Raven. Hopefully in the next book we’ll see more of the softer side to her character. I also want to see her truly accept love into her life. I want her to experience all the different kinds of love and finally trust not only herself but others around her.

Overall, this was a great read but these cliffhangers are absolute killers! I have a feeling Maddoc is about to absolutely lose his shit! I can’t wait until the moment Daddy Brayshaw realizes he’s no longer top dog of the pyramid!
