In my own words:
Kaitlyn Bishop is thirty years old… and she’s the last third generation of Bishops who isn’t married, knocked up, or living the family life. She’s tried the relationship route and had a series of crash and burns. Now she’s desperate to have the family and the life her cousin’s and her brother’s have. So with only one route in mind, she decides to look for a sperm donor online.
Payton Jamison had the wife and the bright and happy future so close he could almost touch it, until one night everything went to hell in a hand basket. Now, ten years later, he finds himself working on the Bishop ranch and thriving at all life obstacles. When his best friend, Kaitlyn Bishop, tells him of her plans to find a sperm donor and get the family ball rolling. Wanting a family also, Payton gives her an offer she simply won’t be able to refuse. Himself.
Now, with a no-strings attached verbal contract in the open, Payton and Kaitlyn give it all they’ve got. And hopefully their friendship stays in tact when all is said and done.
My Thoughts:
Let’s start with the obvious, anytime a pregnancy, whether by accident or by choice is brought into a story line I’m going to definitely read that novel! What makes the pregnancy trope even better is when it’s a pregnancy between best friends! AH! I swooned over Payton and Kaitlyn’s story so damn hard! These two had me falling in love with their story line!
Let’s start with Payton! I was shocked by this man’s backstory and what initially brought him to Eldorado, Texas and the Bishops Ranch. I’m not going to go into spoilers, just know Kennedy Fox had me holding on for dear life and fighting back tears when it came to this man and his past. I see the reasoning why he was unwilling to take the steps to claim Kaitlyn Bishop. Payton Jamison is the definition of what a book boyfriend is in my mind. This man is sweet with a pinch of alpha. He’s protective but also vulnerable. His heart is as fragile as they come. I loved his relationship with the Bishop’s. But I especially loved his overall relationship with Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn Bishop is most definitely one of my top favorite characters in this series! She is a perfect mix of her mother and father (Kiera and Jackson). There was never a dull moment where she was involved! I loved her fiery personality and her ambition. The moments between her and Payton were beyond epic! I loved seeing these two have a friendship before the sexual relationship was introduced. Their connection was on point! To put it simple, these two were pure fire!
One thing I loved about this novel, and this overall series and spin off series, is the strong family bond. The Bishops have an unbreakable bond! And the glue in the center of that bond is Rose Bishop! I’m really wanting a prequel story that revolves around Grandma and Grandpa Bishop. I would love to see how they started. Maybe have a short novella telling their story! I’m talking about strong relationship goals here! My heart could damn near bust every time she is brought on scene. I love how strong and complete this family is. Every time I read a ‘Bishop story’ I’m left feeling the need to get in my truck and visit my family. I love this family.
If you’ve followed the Bishops story line (The Bishop Brother’s Series and the Circle B Ranch series) you were probably in a state of despair thinking this would be the last time we see the Bishops….. Holy Hell did Kennedy Fox throw in a curve ball with that final epilogue! All I have to say is…. BRING ON THE TEXAS HEAT SERIES! I’m ready for the next generation!!
