New York Times bestseller Elle Kennedy brings you a sexy new Off-Campus novel that can be read as a standalone

He’s a player in more ways than one…

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.

This week I’m finding myself absolutely obsessed with Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series! I can’t read the words fast enough! I am STILL over here kicking myself for not picking this series up sooner!

In My Own Words:

The Mistake is the second book in Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series. This opposites attract hockey romance is told from both Logan and Grace’s point of view!

John Logan may just be the biggest manwhore at Briar University. But his title isn’t given for just any reason. You see a few months ago Logan fell in lust with a woman who fell in love with his best friend Garrett. Living by bro code, Logan does everything he can to try and wipe Hannah’s memory from his mind. So he puts his all into his hockey, and tries to become the best player Briar U has ever seen… While his buddies are looking forward to the draft season and taking Hockey further, Logan knows Hockey isn’t in his future. Stepping up and taking care of his family is in his future.

That’s when fate steps in and undermines every which way he saw his life turning out.

All it takes is one knock on the wrong door for Logan’s path to switch directions. All it takes is one spark, one person, and one connection to make Logan realize it wasn’t his best friend’s girl he wanted all along. It was a relationship and a love that could last a lifetime. He wants Grace Ivers… But he’s about to realize, Grace becoming his girl isn’t going to be as easy of a task as what he initially thought. She’s going to make him work for her heart.

My Thoughts:

After reading Garrett and Hannah’s story, I didn’t think it would be possible to love a book more than their story. And that is why I should never make assumptions. I freaking loved Logan and Grace’s story even more!!!

The chemistry between all characters was on point. Elle Kennedy definitely knows what she’s doing when writing a relationship that knows no bounds. I couldn’t get enough of all Logan and Grace moments. From the sweet as sugar moments to the panty melting sexy time scenes, these two pretty much have a connection that trumps all connections.

I think I loved Logan’s story most of all. This man is trying to get his best years out in the open before college ends and he has to head back to his home and help his alcoholic dad. I felt so much compassion through these moments. Often at times when a novel brings a serious subject such as alcohol abuse into the story, it’s the main character turning their back on their loved one. This novel is different. Logan and his older brother, Jeff, refused to turn their backs on their father. As Logan says, his dad wasn’t always an alcoholic. In fact, he was a really good father, and then a car accident occurred and he went to the bottle. Logan showed so much strength in these moments. He was willing to throw his dreams on the back burner to make sure his dad wasn’t alone. There were a few moments when my heart shattered for Logan and his family. In the end though, everyone gets their happily ever after. And I couldn’t be more happy by the outcome.

Now Grace, I loved Grace’s understanding ways and I loved the fact that this woman wasn’t a doormat. When Logan hurt her feelings, she didn’t let him back in so easy. She made him work for her time, and I really loved that about her.

I found the reason I love Elle Kennedy’s novels so far isn’t only for the romance, but also for the strong female leads. In this series so far, I love the fact that both female leads have a backbone. Their fierce as fierce can be. I found both Grace and Hannah to be inspiring leads. I simply can’t get enough.

Now onto why I rated this one a 4.5 star instead of a full 5 star rating….

It’s the same with the first book (The Deal), I wanted more Hockey scenes. I would have loved to see Grace getting involved in the hockey world. I would have loved to see her go to more games and I would have loved a game time insight through Logan’s eyes. One of the main points I look for when reading sports romances is a knowledge of the game. I wanted more hockey moments..

Do I recommend this novel?

YES! Logan and Grace’s story is just as sweet as it is sexy. The chemistry was scorching! I couldn’t put this one down!

      1. I’m a little more than halfway through Dean’s book and I have to agree with you. This series is phenomenal! As for the spin-off Briar U series, I haven’t read it yet. I plan on reading those books after I finish the Off-Campus series. I’m slightly OCD when it comes to reading books out of order.
