I can always count on Sara Ney to bring out the big guns and go outside the box where your typical romance is concerned. I honestly never know what’s going to come out of this author’s mind! It’s always a mystery wrapped in a great looking package. Jock Road exceeded all of my expectations! I loved this awkwardly adorable and quirky romance!

Jackson Jennings Junior or as his friends and teammates call him, Triple J, is on the right track. His football game is locked and loaded and he’s on the verge of being drafted into the NFL. Nothing or nobody is going to screw up his A game.

When Charlotte Edmund’s steps into his life, Jackson is about to learn some things in life can’t be planned.

Oh my lord!!! Jock Road was a great read with loads of hilarious moments and back and forth banter. I’m all about quirky characters who are unlike the norm and Sara Ney executes this detail flawlessly!

Jackson is a southern fried born and bred all american boy. Being a boy raised on a strict football schedule, he never experienced any of the things a kid growing up should experience. He never had a first kiss, he never lost his virginity in the bed of his truck on prom night, and he never got the chance to experience first love. Now he’s twenty two years old and seeing his life only revolves around football and school is really starting to sink in. I freaking loved experiencing all the firsts through a male characters eyes. I loved the awkwardness that came along with him experiencing his first crush, the touches, kisses, the fear of doing something wrong, and his insecurities trying to get the best of him. I freaking loved it all. I legit swooned for this man!!!

One thing about Charlotte…aka Charlie, she’s a spitfire and she sometimes lets her temper get the best of her. Mainly when beefy blonde male’s decide to steal her lunch and shine their brights into her back window on those late nights home from the library. I have to say, Charlie and Jackson’s relationship definitely started on a rocky note. Jackson’s teasing ways and southern charm only sparked her temper that much more, I loved the endless back and forth banter. These two are definitely not your typical romance book couple. They’re both quirky and constantly butting heads. There was never a dull moment.

Now onto why I rated this a 4 star rating,

I found myself rolling my eyes everytime Charlie would mimik Jackson’s southern accent. At first it was adorable and I laughed, but after the first half of the book I found it to be on the verge of annoying. This would have definitely been a five star book, in my opinion, without that minor hiccup.

Overall, Jock Road was a great read, minus the minor hiccup. I found myself flying through this novel, it was too good to put down!!
