Blurb:

Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?

If you haven’t, let me enlighten you: Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife.

Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers.

But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included.

So when the girl I’ve fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it’s time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.

The only question is, will she accept?

“Rule number one in college:
don’t lose you friends at a  house party…
especially when you’re drunk.
Technically this is a loft party though,
so…am I really breaking the rule?

My heart is so freaking happy right now! And that is why I read Meghan Quinn’s novels. She always leaves me feeling happy and full of love. With that being said, It should come as no surprise that this sinfully sexy and witty romance has made it to my top reads of 2019! Meghan Quinn hit this one right out of the ballpark!

About The Locker Room:

The Locker Room is true love at its finest! This standalone is told from the point of view of Emory and Knox.

After Emory finds her boyfriend of six years in an unspeakable position with another woman, she comes to a decision that her life needs a serious change. So she decides to transfer from Cal State, Fullerton all the way to Brentwood U. She has the sudden need to surround herself around her two best friends and actually live the life she wants to live, instead of the life she feels she has to live. She embraces her single life. Until she meets a man with dreamy blue eyes at a loft party.

Knox is on his way to being the best baseball player the world has ever seen, or at least Brentwood has ever seen. This semester calls for no distraction if he still intends on putting his name in the draft after the season. But when he meets a woman at a loft party and has a sudden need to get to know her more, all bets are off the table.

My Thoughts:

I’m absolute shit when it comes to giving my own viewpoint of what this novel was about. So I’m going to cut that portion short and skip on ahead to my thoughts. I seriously can’t get over how much I loved The Locker Room. Every damn thing about this novel had my heart fluttering. From the swoony romantic moments to the slight angst, I loved it all!

From the beginning to the end, I was invested. I honestly couldn’t put this novel down! It was the endless array of one more chapter promises. What I loved most about The Locker Room was the humoress flirtations between Knox and Emory. These two were so freaking hilarious, I honestly haven’t laughed that hard while reading in a long damn time.

Knox Gentry is the ultimate book boyfriend. This man is swoony with a touch of ego, sexy with an adorable flare, and the perfect southern gentleman… well, a perfect southern gentleman with one dirty mouth. I absolutely loved everything about this man. EVERYTHING.

With a strong hero, you need an even stronger Heroine. Emory was everything that completed Knox’s character, plus so much more. She was sassy with a touch of sweet, fiercely independent, and looking to start a new life, which is one of the main reasons why I loved her character so much. I love the independent female who doesn’t put up with men’s shit. She wasn’t easily swayed to fall for Knox, but under the surface it was fun to watch the walls she built around her heart slowly fall, at her own pace. She definitely gave Knox a run for his money. I also loved the fact that she was studying to be a librarian.

The Locker Room is all fun and laughter, until the final chapters. That is where we get our little dose of angst. I fell hard for this couple, so when the unthinkable happened, I legit felt my heart fall to the floor. I wanted to slap Emory, but then I wanted to praise her for doing the right thing. There is no way Knox would have made it as far as he did with a girl on his arm. So I want to give a round of applause to Meghan Quinn for adding that little twist in the novel, my heart however didn’t thank you.

This moment only made the ending that much more epic. I freaking love a true happily ever after, and Quinn delivered!
