I am an absolute sucker for a novel that involves pregnancy! I love witnessing the crazy rollercoaster ride of emotions the woman goes through, especially given the situation in the particular novel. I honestly couldn’t get enough of Drew and Kendall’s story.
About Surprise, Baby!
Sometimes all it takes is a tragedy for a person to realize the life they were given is being lived wrong. Drew Merritt had that once in a lifetime change of life’s perspective when he woke up from a three day diabetic coma. He woke up a changed man. Now all he has to do is prove to the world and to Kendall Greer how much he has changed his ways.
My Thoughts:
Omg, this novel was as cute as it was sassy! I loved Drew and the fact that he stood right by Kendall’s side when times became tough. They rode through this rollercoaster side my side. I loved the emotion portrayed by both characters throughout all the ups and the downs that came along. The emotion was believable and left me wanting and needing more.
I really enjoyed the beginning and the enemies to lovers vibe this story also through off. I loved how Drew slammed down every notion Kendall brough to him. This reformed bad boy is as smooth as a sailor’s sea legs. Gah, this sweet talking man has earned his place on my bookshelf.
I imagined this novel going a different way, and if it would have went the way I assumed it would go, that would have been bad and I would be staring at a blank page for a review I have to write about a book I DNF’d……A huge THANK YOU goes out the Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam for not being predictable and cliche AF and giving me a story that is unlike the millions of baby daddy romances out there.
Overall, if you’re looking for a cute and sassy romance, with loads of banter, a little angst, and a hero that’s a true-blue sexy sweetheart, I highly recommend picking this one up. It was such a fun read. Never a dull moment.
