Thereโ€™s a reason why romantic movies only show the beginning of peopleโ€™s love stories. Thatโ€™s the exciting part, the thrill, the magic. There is something undeniably enticing about the ripe sense of possibility. What will their life become now that theyโ€™ve found each other?

Most days Rebecca Lindt feels like an imposterโ€ฆ
The world admires her as a survivor. But that impression would crumble if people knew her secret. She didnโ€™t deserve to be the one who got away. But nothing can change the past, so sheโ€™s thrown herself into her work. She canโ€™t dwell if she never slows down.

Wes Garrett is trying to get back on his feet after losing his dream restaurant, his money, and half his damn mind in a vicious divorce. But when he intervenes in a mugging and saves Rebeccaโ€•the attorney who helped his ex ruin himโ€•his simple life gets complicated.

Their attraction is inconvenient and neither wants more than a fling. But when Rebeccaโ€™s secret is put at risk, both discover they could lose everything, including what they never realized they needed: each other

She laughed and kissed him. This morning sheโ€™d melted down. But somehow this man had her laughing and turned on only a few hours later. Everything inside her felt buoyed.

She feltโ€ฆlight.ย

Sheโ€™d forgotten what that felt like.

  1. Happy Friday!

My FLF comes from a book I will be reading shortly, Room on the Porch Swing by Amy Clipston……

Allen Lambert rolled onto his side and yawned. His eyes blinked open , and his large but dark bedroom came into clear focus. The green numerals on his battery-operated digital clock read 2: 12. What had awakened him so early?

Have a great weekend and happy reading!๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ“š

  2. I love that cover! I just finished reading A Defense of Honor by Kristi Ann Hunter… “Graham, the Viscount Wharton, heir to the earldom of Grableton, pride of the Cambridge fencing team, coveted party guest, and generally well-liked member of both Brook’s and White’s, was bored.”

    Happy reading!

  3. My first lines come from Jana Astonโ€™s Good Girl.

โ€œโ€˜Weโ€™re not leaving this bar until you kiss someone.โ€™โ€ Payton says this as if we were in the midst of having a conversation about me kissing someone. We werenโ€™t. I nod all the same because weโ€™re nest friends and Iโ€™m used to this kind of outburst from her.โ€

Iโ€™m featuring lines from Alessandra Torreโ€™s upcoming release Even Money on my blog today. Drop by to check them out!

  4. Happy Friday! My first line is from Mail-Order Bride Switch by Dorothy Clark:

โ€œGarret Stevenson kicked the snow off his boots, climbed the steps to the roofed platform of the Union Pacific Railroad station and stopped.โ€

  5. What a sweet cover! One of my current reads is A Proposal to Die For, the first Lady Alkmene Cosy Mystery by Vivian Conroy:

‘Marry me.’ The whispered words reached Lady Alkene Callender’s ears just as she was reaching for the gold lighter on the mantelpiece to relight the cigarette in her ivory holder.

    Have a great weekend!

  6. Iโ€™m sharing about โ€œNo One Ever Askedโ€ by Katie Ganshert on the blog, but Iโ€™m currently reading, โ€œThe Weaverโ€™s Daughterโ€ by Sarah E. Ladd.

Alarmโ€™s menacing sting picked Kate Dearborneโ€™s consciousness and hurried her steps.

Happy reading and have a great weekend!
