TGIF!
Today is the start of something new <- (anyone else have weird high school musical flashbacks? )
Anyways. Today I’ve decided to partake in the weekly book meme First Line Friday!
First Line Friday is hosted by Hoarding Books

“Ah, hell, V, you’re killing me.” Butch O’Neal mined through his sock drawer, looking for black silk, finding white cotton.
No, wait. He pulled out one dress sock. Not exactly a triumph.
“If I were killing you, cop, footwear’d be the last thing on your mind.”
Butch glanced over at his roommate. His fellow Red Sox fan. His…well, one of his two best friends.
Both of whom, as it turned out, happened to be vampires.

Lover Eternal
(Black Dagger Brotherhood Series #2)
by: J.R. Ward
Synopsis:
Within the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Rhage is the warrior vampire with the strongest appetites. He’s the deadliest fighter, the most voracious lover, the quickest to act on his impulses. He’s also been cursed with two hundred years of hell. Possessed by a beast, he lives in fear of the times when his inner dragon comes out and he’s a danger to everyone around him.
Mary Luce has unwittingly found herself in the vampire world, and under Rhage’s protection. With her own life-threatening curse to bear, she’s not looking for love. Besides, she’s stopped believing in saving grace and miracles long ago. But when Rhage’s intense sexual attraction turns into emotional bonding, he knows he must have her for his mate. As their enemies close in, Mary finds herself praying for something she fears she’ll never have: life eternal with the one she loves.

Leave me a comment with the first line of the novel your reading!
Peace Love and Happy Reading,

I’ve heard of this series, but never read any because I think names like Rhage would annoy (enrhage?) me too much.
I’m currently reading an advance copy of Falling for You by Becky Wade. It doesn’t release until 1 May, but I loved True to You and I have no self-control when it comes to Becky Wade, so here are the opening lines:
“I discovered a secret.”
Corbin Stewart looked sharply at twelve-year-old Charlotte Dixon. “What kind of a secret?”
I agree! I thought the names would be a huge distraction for me, but I’m finding they flow better with the story. After reading two books from this series, It would be strange to have a Vampire Warrior named Ben or Ned 🙂
Thank you for sharing! True To You sounds like something I need to read more of!
I can’t say vampires are my thing, but welcome to First Line Friday!
The book I’m featuring on my blog today is ‘Shadows of Hope’ by Georgiana Daniels, but I’m going to share the first line of my current read here: The Man He Never Was by James L. Rubart:
“Toren Daniels rolled over in bed and light pierced his closed eyelids, which meant five a.m. had come and gone.”
Thank you! I’m more of a contemporary Romance type person. I felt the need for a change this month. I used to love paranormal until all the plots started to blend together. This series though, is very unique and I’m loving it!
Also, thank you for sharing! I haven’t read anything by James L. Rubart. The title ‘The Man He Never Was’ has me intrigued. I’m definitely going to check this one out on goodreads.
Happy Friday! Welcome to First Line Fridays!!
My FLF comes from a book im starting soon, Honeysuckle Dreams by Denise Hunter……
Playing house was just a little too easy for Hope Daniels. Her special chicken casserole waited in the oven, covered with foil; butter beans were simmering on the stovetop; and the yeasty smell of baked rolls hung in the air.
Have a great weekend!😀
Thank You for sharing! Honeysuckle Dreams is a novel that i’m definitely interested in. Any novel that has the ability to take me back to my roots is a winner and from this first line, it has definitely achieved that! Added to my tbr!
Welcome to First Line Friday!
I’m currently reading the First Love Forever Collection, so I’ll share the first line from the current novella I’m in, Heartfelt Echoes by Jennifer Uhlarik:
Travis McCaffrey stared at the front door of the mansion before him.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you for sharing!
Happy Friday! My first line is from Joel C. Rosenberg’s book The Kremlin Conspiracy:
“Louisa Sherbatov had just turned six, but she would never turn seven.”
Thank you for sharing! This first line is very intriguing and mysterious!
Happy Friday!
Today on my blog, I am sharing the first line from Rachael Anderson’s newest Regency novel, My Sister’s Intended. It’s an excellent book I highly recommend. Here I will share the first three lines from the novel I’m currently reading, Not Abandoned by MacKenzie Morganthal.
“It was a prison like none other. With boarded windows and a tall fence, I’d almost forgotten what it looked like outside. The bars that caged me in were strong, but not as strong as the bars I’d put up around my heart.”
Wow! That first line caught my attention! Thank you for sharing! I just added Not Abandoned to my tbr,
Happy Friday!
My first lines come from J Kenner’s Justify Me.
“I should never have let him get close, this man who swept into my life like living flame, beautifully wild and dangerously enticing.”
If you stop by my blog, I am featuring lines from Susan Stoker’s Rescuing Sadie.
Mhmmm…you had me at ‘dangerously enticing’! J Kenner is on my ‘Author’s to read’ list. Thank you for sharing!
This was my first J Kenner and I loved it!
I have three books by J Kenner on my bookshelf…I need to seriously read them!
Welcome to FLF! I’m sharing from The Enchanted April by Elizabeth von Arnim on my blog today, so I’ll share from a recent read. Here’s the first line from the prologue of Julie Cantrell’s Perennials:
“Summer 1979
Oxford, Mississippi
“Four!” Bitsy cheers, twisting the lid to her firefly jar.”
Happy Friday!
Welcome to First Line Friday!
Thank you! ♡♡♡
