Relationships come in all forms. Everywhere you look and everywhere you go you see a relationship. This segment is all about those relationships, whether it be relationships between best friends or a relationships between family members. Today’s blogger bits is all about those relationships.
*He didn’t have to be*
One of my favorite relationships when it comes to the novels I read are the relationships when a single mom meets the love of her life and he not only loves her but also loves her kids. I literally get weepy every time I read a novel with this storyline. I’ve labeled these novels as the *He didn’t have to be* novels.
As for the other two He didn’t have to be novels. Natasha Madison does this role perfect when it comes to the relationship between Cooper Stone and his love interest, Parker’s, two kids in her debut novel Something So Right. I especially loved his relationship between Cooper and Parker’s son Michael. Michael was in dire need of a father figure in his life after his own father decided to join the dead beat club. I really enjoyed watching the relationship grow between these two. It definitely packed a punch in the good ol’ heartstrings.
Another one of my favorites in this relationship category is Reaper’s Legacy by Joanne Wylde. This novel, even thought its MC and sexy as hell, shows a relationship between an Uncle who steps up and fills the father role after his brother decides to also join the dead beat club. I loved the relationship between Ruger and Noah. This man would cross the widest river and swim the deepest oceans for this little man. He also destroys every single obstacle Noah’s mother Sophie throws at him to keep the MC out of their lives. Noah is a six-year-old little boy who is at that stage where a father’s role is important. I really loved the relationship between Noah and Ruger, this is the perfect example of a ‘he didn’t have to be relationship.
Best Friends
Gah! I love Best Friends in novels! I love the ride or die these relationships show, especially this relationship.
Sam and Logan hold the number one spot for Best Friends! Logan is the exact crazy that Sam needs in her life…and trust me when I say…there is a hell of a lot of crazy when it comes to Logan Kade. One thing I love about this relationship, there is never a time when the two wouldn’t go to battle for each other. Even throughout the series when other relationships where being tested I knew this relationship, this friendship, would never end. This series is the exact image I picture when I think about this type of relationship I love in novels.
Annoying Older Brothers -Little Sister
The little sister with older protective brother relationship is another favorite of mine. I love the drama novels with this type of relationship usually contains, fierce alpha brothers who think no man is good enough for their little sister,. Even though I totally find this annoying in real life *hehe*.
Trust Me by Lacey Black is the perfect novel to describe what I’m talking about. Avery is a young single mother and Maddox is a reformed tomcat who has his eyes set on Avery. The only issue Maddox is Jake’s best friend and Jake just happens to be Avery’s older brother who is very overprotective of his little sister. Not only do you get 1 overprotective big brother in this novel, no, Avery has 4 older brothers who are all very protective of her. Which makes for a tough situation for Maddox. I love the strong familial vibe this novel gives off.
Other novels I highly recommend with this type of relationship are:
Rockstar Brotherhood
I love me some rockstar romances and not only for the hot sexy times they usually bring. I also love novels centered around rockstars because of the brotherhood that shines between the pages of the novels. I love the camaraderie these group of guys share and the willingness to be at each others backs no matter what the issue.
The first novel/series that comes to mind when I think of this relationship type is Sinners on Tour by Olivia Cunning. These men are put through the ringer but throughout it all, they each had the others back. I loved each relationship throughout this series. I love the laughter and the inside jokes. This series is a brotherhood done right! And the sexy shenanigans….oh the shenanigans…
Other recomendations:
There are so many more relationships that literally just came to mind, this post could seriously lead to being one of those never-ending types. What are your favorite relationships in novels? Let’s discuss.
