My Best Friend's Ex

Title: My Best Friend’s Ex
Author: Meghan Quinn
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: June 1st, 2017
Format: Kindle (ARC)

My Rating: ✮✮✮✮

Synopsis:

When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.

Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn’t be that big of a deal Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he’s still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I’m trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.

Boy, was I wrong.

Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.

Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs.

But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.

Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend’s ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that’s what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.

Funky Beats (6)

Be prepared to Swoon! Tucker Jameson is the epitome of the word!
“I don’t want to let go. I can’t let go. She’s my forever.

After Emma Marks gets a concerning call from her friend and roommate she quickly runs home only to learn they are being evicted from their house. Her friend has no issues with moving somewhere else. But Emma, Emma has nowhere to go. That is until she runs into her best friend’s Ex-Boyfriend; Tucker Jameson.

Tucker is still feeling the broken aftermath from his relationship with Sadie. The poor guy has the inability to move on after such a catastrophic ending. So he’s surprised when he walks into his regular watering hole to find Emma (Sadie’s best friend) looking sad and defeated.

After Emma’s friend spills the beans on her situation Tucker can’t help but to try to help by offering her a place to live until she gets back on her feet. He only has one rule: Don’t step foot in the spare room!

“She makes me feel real, justified, like everything I’ve done in my life leading up to this moment was meant to be. That I walked through hell and finally came out on the other end slightly burnt but fucking happy. Funny thing about true happiness, though. You never know it’s inside you until someone pulls it out.
I really enjoyed this novel. My heart not only broke for Tucker and his heartbreaking situation but also for Emma and the fact that her heart was starting to meddle where it shouldn’t have been. I actually shed a couple of tears for both of these characters.
“Sometimes a human’s touch is all you need to heal wounds.
I was told to read Co-wrecked before reading My Best Friend’s Ex…I didn’t have time to read both before my review was due, but if you are wondering if you were told like I was to read the first before this one. I can see why people say that, because the first is Sadie’s story…but I read this one fine and dandy all on its own.
Now onto why I dropped a star….
I found this novel to be more on the angsty side of things rather than the Romantic Comedy that it was described as. Don’t get me wrong, there was hilarious situations and one liners. But I felt the angst was stronger than those moments.

Overall,

I really liked My Best Friend’s Ex!!!!

Peace Love and Happy Reading,
