Moon’s Promise is the Eleventh book in Jamie Begley’s Last Riders MC Series. But have no fear, if you are new to Jamie Begley’s novels or if you’ve fallen behind in the reading order, Moon and Larissa’s story can be read as a standalone.

Larissa never thought she’d have a one-night stand, but here she finds herself sneaking out of a member of the Last Rider’s bedroom with something that unbeknownst to her, belongs to both her and Moon.

Moon’s night happened like they all do, he had to much to drink, went home and slept with a woman in his club. But what he soon uncovers, is the woman he can’t erase from his mind isn’t a member of his club. So who the hell did he sleep with?

Fate has a funny way of revealing itself at the right moment. Moon is about to learn, all his dreams are about to be handed to him. The ball is now in his court, to make things right. But as we all know, Moon and his egotistical ways isn’t about to let Larissa’s sneaking into his bedroom and running off with the secret he placed in her, go.

My Thoughts:

Jamie Begley continues to grasp my attention with her novels. I love everything from the cover love down to the tropes. My heart knows it’s about to go on a wonderful journey at first sight. I have been waiting for Moon’s Promise to launch on kindle unlimited for a very long time. Moon’s story was sitting at the number one spot on my Summer ‘24 Anticipated Releases. What can I say, aside from, I love the world Jamie Begley has created within the Last Riders MC. With all that being said, Moon’s Promise was a great read that involved suspense and spice. There were a few moments that I absolutely adored, and there were a few that I needed a little bit more from. So let’s get to my thoughts on this novel.

First let’s talk about the characters, starting with Larissa. I kind of adored the meek vibes Larissa brought to this table. She’s soft hearted and soft spoken. Which widely differs from Moon’s personality. She has a kind heart and a kind soul. But, if you anger this woman, she let’s her fierce side show. I loved the fact that she’s a mid-wife, that’s an occupation you don’t see very much in romance novels. And I loved her ambition when it comes to helping women have the births they’ve dreamed of and not just the typical hospital birth. I was vibing with this woman and her career choice throughout the whole novel.

And then we have Moon. Moon is arrogant, egotistical, and thinks he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, other’s emotions be damned. He is being tossed between two Last Rider’s MC chapters because neither Viper, nor Wizard knows where to put him. This man is arrogant and trouble! And I was here for it! But herein lies the reasoning behind why I dropped a star on my rating for Moon’s Promise. I absolutely HATED the way he treated Larissa. Sure, there were moments he seemed sweet on her, but with this man, EVERYTHING felt calculated and manipulative. And threatening to take a baby isn’t the way to warm a woman’s heart…. UGH! There were so many moments when I wanted to reach into this novel and slap this man upside his head… Every sweet moment, had me questioning does he mean it or is he playing her. My mind and my emotions were in a constant whirlwind state. At the end of the day, I could have dropped another star, but I loved the back and forth play on my emotions! It had me that much more invested in this novel, this relationship, and this romance.

I enjoyed Moon’s Promise. Shade is still my favorite, and will probably always be my favorite, in this series. But there were aspects Moon brought to this novel, like a hint of vulnerability that he never let show and a hint of wanting to belong, as every human craves. I also adored Larissa’s personality. But there were moments I wanted more of. Like more sweet moments between Larissa and Moon that didn’t lead to sex. But overall, this was a great read.
