Synopsis:

In a tangled mess of betrayal and chaos, I was moved almost overnight onto rival territory under the protection of the one man I never wanted to be a burden to.

Jameson King.

To keep me safe, he handed me a ring and told me I’d become his wife. It’s a marriage made of convenience, but there’s a thread of truth neither of us want to examine. The past we’re ignoring, the almost we could have had if our lives were different.

If I hadn’t chosen wrong.

I keep trying to convince myself it doesn’t matter, not when we hold hands or sleep in the same bed. Because Jameson has always held me at arm’s length, and my ex is coming for me…we’re just biding our time before this all comes to a messy end.

This is where we promise to hold, honor, and cherish…but what are vows made from lies?

Jameson will stay long enough to ensure I’m safe, and then he’ll let me go, just like he always did before.

Where We Promise by Ashley Munoz is the third book in the Stone Riders MC Series. This is Penelope and Jamison King’s unexpected pregnancy romance with a twist.

Since she was thirteen years old, Penelope has been in love with Jamieson King. But their time was never right, and Penelope found herself settling for Jamieson’s best friend, Luke. Now, Penelope isn’t a teenager anymore. And life is about to throw her a curveball along with a need for protection against the club she spent more than half of her life with when the father of her unborn baby refuses the two of them and casts her out to survive the club life on her own… But little does she know, her heartbreak is soon going to be her greatest gift.

Jamieson felt his heart ignite the first time he laid his eyes on Penelope. Being a teenager, Jamie is being primed to run the chaos kings mc when his father, the president, steps aside. He wants more for Penelope than life in a club. She’s worth so much more in his eyes. So he did what he thought was best back then and he let her go.

Now, Jamieson will do everything in his power to protect Penelope and her baby. Even if that means placing her in his MC’s rival club, Stone Riders MC and keeping her out of reach from his crumbling club.

My Thoughts:

The past two books in the Stone Riders MC Series gave us little hints about Penelope and her unexpected pregnancy and exile from a rival MC, Chaos Kings. Ashley Munoz, continues to surprise me by adding her own spin to the Motorcycle Club sub-genre! I loved Penelope’s story and I loved Penelope and Jamieson’s romance! My heart was invested from the very start of this novel. Hell, my heart was invested the first time Penelope was mentioned in this series. I had a feeling this one was going to be full of angst, suspense, and danger. Ashley Munoz did NOT disappoint!!

Let’s start with Penelope! I loved the fact that Penelope wore her vulnerability on her sleeve as she did her heart. This woman loves hard, which leaves her absolutely destroyed when shit hits the fan. I really don’t want to give this novel away more than what I already did in the ‘In My Own Words’ section. Just know, this woman is sweet but she also holds a serious grudge, and it’s understandable.

And then we have Mr. Jamieson King. This man had me so angry at times, I wanted to reach into my kindle and slap the stupid from him. This heartbreak could have all been avoided if he would have pulled up his big boy pants and confessed his true feelings for her at the beginning! But then I understand him wanting her to have a better life outside of the Motorcycle Club life…. But Come ON!! We all know, that wouldn’t have happened! I do have to say, Jamie quickly redeems himself, in my opinion. I loved his alpha vibes where Penelope is concerned.

And here is where I decided to drop a star on my rating. I wanted more soft moments from this man and less flirtatious moments. I wanted deep conversations, night long cuddles, and soft spoken words in the middle of the night. I did love his fierce protective nature towards Penelope and her unborn son. But, I really wanted more of those soft moments between the two. What can I say, I’m a spoiled reader.

Overall, I really enjoyed Where We Promise by Ashley Munoz. I loved the alpha vibes, the spice, and the suspense that this novel held. I have to say, that moment of conflict at the end of this novel had me literally moving to the edge of my seat! Now, I’m eager to get my hands on Silas and Natty’s story! I have a feeling the final book in the Stone Riders MC Series is going to be filled with emotional vibes and more fearful moments! I can’t wait!!
