Undeniable by Daisy Jane is an age gap standalone romance with an Motorcycle Club hero and a Mom’s Ex-Boyfriend Trope. Be prepared, this novel is riddled with angst and a few heavy triggers.

Callan Hayes has only ever known three loves in his life. The first love comes from his Grams, a woman who saved him from his neglectful parents and gave him a home. The second and third came from two children he claimed as his own, but had no rights to. At twenty-eight years old, he never pictured himself the family man. But when he sets his sights on Lexi and Benny, the children his current hook-up continues to neglect, he’s made it his mission to see they are taken care of, even if that means marrying a woman he will never love. But when the mother takes the kids and runs, he spends a year looking for children he has no claims to with no luck.

Now, Lexi, Benny, and their mother are back in Oakcreek. It’s been ten years since Callan has last set his sights on the two children he was willing to give his life to.

My Thoughts:

This is my first time reading a novel from Daisy Jane and what I can say is I love how this author paid attention to detail and emotions. It was next to impossible to put this one down. In fact, I spent all night reading Undeniable. There was no putting this one down, I had to know what happened next, and I had to know at that moment. I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes open for more releases from Daisy Jane in the future!!

I’m also new to the ‘Falling in love with Mom’s Ex-Boyfriend’ trope and therein lies the concern I had when requesting an advanced copy of Undeniable. I was a tad bit scared that this novel would turn into a cringe fest. And I’m happy to say, in my opinion, this novel didn’t portray the cringe fest I had initially feared. However, there was one cringe moment involving Lexi’s mom… but we won’t get into all that today!

Now let’s dive into one reason that had me immediately requesting this novel. One of the main reasons I requested an advanced copy was the Motorcycle Club aspect. I’m a huge fan of MC romances! However, this isn’t your traditional dangerous MC with killer vibes and death lurking around every corner. This MC is tame and their helpers of their community. They are men you can rely on, instead of men you would typically run from. I actually loved this aspect of the MC life. I loved how it showed these men as brothers that can be depended on. My heart loved this aspect the most!

So with that in mind, let’s get to these characters. First up we have Callan Hayes. I’m not even going to lie, Callan’s backstory and the fear he felt for these kids literally broke my heart. I wanted to reach into this novel and give the man a pat on the back for at least trying to find them. That’s something that actually means something. My heart loved this man from the very first moment, to the last. He’s the reason why I couldn’t put this one down.

And then we have Lexi. My heart broke for this woman. She lived her life taking care of her younger brother while her mother was vacant. And I don’t mean just a teenager taking care of a child. At one point in this novel, Lexi was seven while she was taking care of her baby brother. Basically, Lexi didn’t have a childhood. And the only positive moments of her childhood she can remember is when Callan Hayes was in the picture. He took care of her and her brother, while their mother was in and out of the house. So when I say this woman is wise beyond her years, I don’t say that lightly. Lexi, as a child, had to grow up at a very young age. She’s an old soul. Which makes the current relationship between her as an 18 year old and Callan as a 38 year old, not at all cringy.

I loved the vibe between Lexi and Callan. I loved how he was always positive around her, and helped her in ways she didn’t even know she needed it. I loved the fact that he showed her what it meant to actually love someone. I loved the bond these two shared. My heart was on overload throughout this whole novel… until the end, Daisy Jane completely shattered my heart to pieces… I’m still shaking my head and internally screaming WHY! WHY! WHY!. Why would you do this to us!! I was invested in all characters throughout this novel. It’s been a long time since I last cried while reading a novel, and Daisy Jane can now go on the list of authors who have made me cry!

Overall, I loved Undeniable. I loved the emotion, the angst, and the love that was represented throughout this novel. Not just between Callan and Lexi, but between all characters. I laughed, I cried, and I loved throughout this novel. My heart went through a whirlwind of emotions. Thank you, Daisy Jane, for bringing all the feels to this novel and forcing all the tears from this reader’s eyes!
