Where is your favorite place to read?
My Answer:
Growing up, I was comfortable reading in most places. Whether it be a blanket on the grass on a windy summer day or a long car ride out of state. Anywhere was fine by me. Now that I’m older, I find myself gravitating towards a few particular spots. When Mr. Man and I lived in Oxford, he would come home from work to find me on the staircase reading, thus inspiring the name of my blog. As of a year ago, the staircase in my old home was my favorite place to read. I would stack up pillows on the landing, lounge and read all day. I think I was most sad to say goodbye to that one place I found the most peace in.ย
Last year we moved and it was a struggle to find a new favorite reading spot. I had lost all hope, until I finally found it… My favorite summer reading spot is my front porch swing. Since I was a child, i always dreamed of having a front porch and a swing. Granted, we had to improvise for the time being by putting our old three seat swing with the canopy on the porch, minus the canopy. But so far, I’m loving the look of it until we install an actual hanging front porch swing. My swing looks over a corn/bean field during the summer and if you look towards the right, there is the most spectacular sunset views! I adore everything about this reading spot! Saying it’s peaceful, is an understatement. It gives me a few moments to reflect on all the positives that happened during that day. I love it so much.

I love reading in the evening outside on our deck, weather permitting. It isn’t the greatest view or anything, but it’s typically cool and has a nice breeze and no one else is outside to bug me ๐ If not, probably in bed.
your favorite place sounds wonderful! Especially the *no one else is outside to bug me* part. It seems like every time I go to sit on the swing, something or someone interrupts me. Maybe I should slap a do not disturb sign to my forehead (LOL).
A front porch swing sounds like a great place to read. I like to read in my recliner. If that doesn’t say old, I don’t know what does. haha
I just finished reading Coach from my recliner… HAHA! What can I say, it’s too darn cold to read outside right now!
