Synopsis:

Malcolm

They say opposites attract, but I never understood the phrase until Leni Abbott walked into my office—or more specifically—into my office bathroom, while I was naked. Even as the pink stained her cheeks and she stuttered to speak, I was completely intrigued. She’s unlike anyone I’ve met before and, wildly enough, seems immune to my charms.

She also has a son. A young five-year-old boy, Trace, who blindsides me with his toothless grin and worms his way into my heart.

Together, they make me feel things. Things I’ve never expected. This single mom might not know it, but she could be everything I never knew I wanted.

Leni

I’ve heard all the rumors about Malcolm Wright, the playboy mayor with a trail of broken hearts left in his wake. I try to resist him, really I do, but he’s always there with those devastatingly gorgeous eyes and a sexy smile full of wicked intent. When he hires my business to clean his impressive house, I know I should stay away, yet find my resolve slipping.

Then he meets my son. I fully expect him to run for the hills, but that doesn’t happen. In fact, being near Trace only seems to draw Malcolm and I closer.

Now there are two hearts on the line as I put my trust and faith into the one man in Mason Creek who may not be able to give his own heart in return.

It’s official! I found my favorite couple…so far… in the Mason Creek series!!!!
*sigh* I really loved Malcolm and Lenora’s story. This one tugged at all of my heartstrings. Lacey Black just ran away with my heart!

In My Own Words:

Perfect Kiss by Lacey Black is the ninth standalone romance in the Mason Creek Series. It’s finally time for Mr. Mayor of Mason Creek to end his wild ways and find love. And what better person to match him up with than Lenora Abbott. I knew I was going to be a goner the moment I set my eyes on these two. And the prediction rang true the more I read.

Lenora Abbott, single mother and house cleaner extraordinaire, had her life all planned out. But then fate threw a curve ball in the midst. Now she finds herself back in her hometown of Mason Creek, Montana with her five year old son. But through the past few months she’s made a name for herself in this sleepy little town. She not only owns the laundromat, but her cleaning business has been fairly successful and provides her with everything she needs to raise her son all by herself.

Malcolm Wright is a third generation and youngest mayor Mason Creek has ever had. He lives his daytime doing the best he can to build up and protect his small town, and the nights… Well, let’s just say the man didn’t receive his playboy status from sitting at home knitting sweaters all night. He’s worked his way through all the single ladies in the small town and a few close knit communities. That all changed the moment he set his sights on Lenora Abbott. He wants everything she has to and is willing to offer her. And her five year old son is the icing on the cake.

My Thoughts:

Oh my heart! I don’t think I can say this enough, Lacey Black stole my heart with this one!! It has to be said, Malcolm Wright may just be my favorite hero in a long line of swoony Mason Creek heroes. This man has everything I look for in the perfect book boyfriend. He has the swoony factor and the bad boy vibe down perfect. But this man also has a heart of gold and an unwillingness to hurt those he cares about. What I loved most about this man is the way he took Trace under his wing and taught the boy how to fish. Trace, Lenora’s five year old son, has never really had a father figure he could look up too. So when Malcolm took the boy out fishing, you can bet your last dollar I was swoony pretty hard. I also loved how he gained a strong connection with Trace, before he gained a connection with Lenora. That fatherly vibe he had with Trace brought tears of joy to my eyes. I couldn’t get enough!

And then we have Lenora! This woman is as fierce as she is strong. When it comes to protecting her son, she’s definitely a mama bear. But beneath all that strength and courage, there was an uncanny amount of vulnerability. This woman was put through the wringer with her last relationship. I easily understood her fear of not being good enough when it comes to Malcolm. Her insecurities are what broke my heart. But then, throughout this novel, I started to see her grow and gain comfort in her own skin with the help from Malcolm. This man knew he was holding onto a treasure, and there wasn’t a moment where he wasn’t telling her how beautiful she was and how kind her heart was. The chemistry between these two was undeniable! I loved how both were each other’s rock. They both built each other up, and never let the other fall. And that’s the exact relationship example Trace needed in his life! And don’t get me started on Malcolm teaching Trace the ways to treat a woman….. Holy swoon moment!!

Alright…. I’m rambling on now, so I’m going to end this review here and now. If you love single mother romances with a hero who is not only a reformed playboy but also wears a heart of gold, check this book out. If you love strong chemistry and connections that will have you shedding tears of joy, check this book out. And lastly, if you like novels with adorable children and role models who step into the parental role flawlessly, definitely check this book out! This will be the novel I think of, and recommend, whenever someone brings up small town romances or Lacey Black’s name! I won’t be able to get over this one! It’ll stay in my heart for the long haul!
