2021, a new year with new dreams, new goals, and new opportunities.
It’s a time to turn the page and start fresh.
New lessons will be made and new limits will be tested.
Clear your minds and let new thoughts settle in.
Forget about all the downfalls you experienced last year,
and bring all the positive moments to the front.
We all lived.
And we all learned
This year I have a set of challenges and a list of goals I’m hoping to achieve in 2021!
So let’s get started!
Challenges:
New-To-Me Author Challenge!
The new-to-me author challenge is a challenge I’ve been doing for the last few years. So each month I plan on reading ‘at least’ three new-to-me authors. Last year’s challenge was a success. I found a bunch of authors I really loved and this year I’m hoping for the same turnout!
A-Z Reading Challenge!
This challenge looks like fun so I thought why the hell not. There are a few variants on how to do this challenge. Some use the first letter of the authors name, while others base the A-Z from the title. I decided to base my challenge on the book title. Maybe next year I’ll base it on the author’s name. I’m really excited to start this challenge!!
Goodreads Challenge!
This is the seventh year I’ve entered myself in the Goodreads Challenge. My typical reading goal is two hundred books by the end of the year. This year I decided to read one hundred and then work my way up from there. I’m a bit more open minded this year about reaching my goal and more. We will see.
Author Binge Challenge!
And my final challenge of the year is my Author Binge Challenge. This year I selected five authors I plan on reading! 5 Authors + 15 series = Over expectations?….. Maybe, maybe not. We will see!
Goals:
Read 3-5 Paperbacks each month.
My bookshelves have felt a bit neglected lately. Although, I found I do reach for paperbacks more than normal. I still find I have a ton of unread books on my shelf. Here’s to hoping I can get through half the books on my shelf by the end of the year.
Post more frequently on Social Media.
It’s not mystery this past year I haven’t been posting as much as I used to on Social media. Mainly bookstagram and my Facebook. This year I’m planning on getting back into the swing of things and posting more updates on what I’m reading, what I’m loving, and loads of book recommendations.
Let the books I’m not enjoying, GO!
I’m the worst at trying to find the silver lining in a dark cloud when it comes to reading. I have a series case of FOMO. But with that come so many spent hours reading a book that just didn’t cut it for me. One of my goals for 2021 is to let those books GO!
Do you set reading specific challenges and goals for yourself?
