Greed by K. Webster and Ker Dukey, is the seventh book in The Elite Seven series. This is Micha’s story….and to avoid spoilers, I won’t be disclosing who the lucky lady is! Because this is the final book in the series, nearly everything I say will be spoilerish. So if you haven’t read this book or this series yet. Refrain from reading my review.
The final is upon us, and with the finale comes revenge. But one person outside of the Elite craves vengeance and retribution. She also craves power over the person who has wronged her in the worst case imaginable. But being locked up in the Dixon’s house isn’t going to get her what she want’s most. Envy’s head on a silver platter.
Micah has never felt good enough throughout his life. Sure he had a nice car, a great mansion, and a silver spoon lifestyle. But nothing every felt good enough. He always wanted more. When he discovers a secret the original Elite members and his father is hiding, he holds all the cards in his hands. But somebody in the elite is unaware and keeps searching for the treasure. If he finds the treasure he will destroy her in every form. Micah’s greedy ways wants to keep his treasure a secret, from the original, from his brothers, from the world, until it is truly safe. But his treasure has other plans. Plans of revenge and plans of final salvation.
The Elite Series has been quite a ride. Not only did it introduce me to a few new to me authors, but these authors also found a way to hook their claws in until the final book in the series.
Greed was a roller coaster to say the least, full of highs and lows. Throughout this book I was on the edge of my seat grasping onto each word. But after reading and having a couple days for the plot to sync in and having absorbed the story as a whole. I have to say, the ending was a tad bit predictable and a little underwhelming for having it built up so much.
I loved Greed and ……’s romance. These two are a match made in hell but I felt like the beginnings of their relationship was rushed, given the shit that was going down at the time, I understand the swiftness of it all, but I wanted more alone time between them. I wanted her to feel more comfort with him before they went along the wicked path to destruction.
Overall, I’m sad to see this series end. It’s been one long brutal roller coaster with a sweet and soft landing.
