I purchased The Controversial Princess due to all the freaking hype surrounding this novel. What can I say, I was swept up in all the amazing reviews…. plus I requested His True Queen on Netgalley without realizing it was the second part to this duet… Oops…

When I started this novel, I realized quickly how addicting Jodi Ellen Malpas’s writing can be. I was swept away from the first chapter. Jodi Ellen Malpas is a new to me author, don’t ask me why I haven’t read her work before now…. I haven’t’ the slightest clue. All I know is this author is amazing at writing gripping scenes and heart wrenching moments. Let’s not forget about all the insanely sexy moments that go on between Adeline and Josh. Holy hell… were there some crazy hot moments.

I cannot wait to start His True Queen tonight, especially after that mind blowing cliff hanger. To be honest, I dropped a star because I felt like I knew where the novel was heading but holy shit, I didn’t realize how dramatic it would be….CRAZY!

Overall, I really enjoyed this novel. I loved the characters and the forbidden vibe that came with the relationship. I loved the connection between Adeline and Josh. Last but not least I loved how this novel pulled me in and captured my attention, especially given the fact that I don’t typically read novels revolving around the monarchy.  Now onto His True Queen!!!
