I’ve decided to do it again! Welcome to my portion of Down The TBR Hole. Down The TBR Hole is a bookish meme created by Lia @ Lost In A Story. Each Saturday, or for how long it takes to cleanse my tbr, I’ll share ten books that have been on my tbr for the longest and then I’ll share whether I’m keeping them or Letting them go.
Last week was much more difficult that I ever imagined it would be, especially given the wonderful authors I was forced to keep around or let go. It’s not an easy task but its one that needs to be done.
Before we get started here are the rules to follow:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
Alright, lets do this!

The Books
Date added to my tbr shelf: March 2nd, 2016
My Thoughts: I added Sinner’s Creed by Kim Jones to my tbr due to my sudden obsession with MC Romances. After reading the blurb I’m no longer interested in this novel. Honestly, I’ve read so many MC Romances, i’ve become a tad bit picky on what I read and who its written by.
Verdict: Let it Go
Date added to my tbr shelf: March 15th, 2016
My Thoughts: I added Alec to my tbr after reading Dominic’s story. I’m still very interested in reading Alec’s story even if I thought Dominic’s story was just okay. This book sounds like something I would definitely be interested in reading now.
Verdict: Keep
Date added to my tbr shelf: March 16th, 2016
My Thoughts: After reading the blurb I’ve come to one small conclusion, this book sounds vaguely familiar…. I’m pretty sure I tried to read You Really Got Me once before and couldn’t get into it and just for that, I have to let it go.
Verdict: Let It Go
Date added to my tbr shelf: March 20th, 2016
My Thoughts: When I first heard about Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover I was all for this novel and the blurb, reading the blurb now I’m not as intrigued as I once was.
Verdict: Let It Go
Date added to my tbr shelf: March 20th, 2016
My Thoughts: After reading the blurb for Revved I’ve decided I need more racing men in my life and I’m all about Bad Boy Racers! Definite Keep and I’m moving this one up on my tbr!
Verdict: KEEP
Date added to my tbr shelf: March 22nd, 2016
My Thoughts: I haven’t the slightest clue why or even when I added Scarlet Rain to my tbr and why I only added book two to my tbr…. I need to stop randomly clicking ‘want to read’ so late at night…
Verdict: LET IT GO!
Date added to my tbr shelf: April 6th, 2016
My Thoughts: Lawless In Leather sounds like a fun read! I also own books 1 and 2, I’m going to keep this one around!
Verdict: KEEP
Date added to my tbr shelf: April 7th, 2016
My Thoughts: I’m all about fighters in my romances, I bought this book long ago and recently I’ve been staring at it on my tbr bookshelf. Armie has been a favorite of mine throughout this series… I cannot believe I haven’t read this yet!
Verdict: Keep
Date added to my tbr shelf: April 19th, 2016
My Thoughts: This novel sounds so cute but also familiar. This one was also added due to the hype surrounding it. Sadly, I don’t see myself reaching for Did I Mention I Love You anytime soon. That’s the thing with over-hyped books… Eventually the hype wears off and your left with an extremely overpopulated tbr pile.
Verdict: Let It go
Date added to my tbr shelf: April 19th, 2016
My Thoughts: Hook sounds like a dark version of pretty woman! I am definitely down to reading this book! I’m loving the suspenseful vibe the blurb captures!
Verdict: KEEP

I just removed 5 out of the 10 books I listed! I’m feeling so extremely good right now. I learned one thing today, I really need to stop adding books to my tbr just because of the hype surrounding it. I need to read the blurbs and see if the book really reaches out to me. Maybe that will be a bookish goal for next year.
Let me know in the comments if you’ve read any of the books on my list and if you’d keep them or Let them go!
Peace Love and Happy Reading,
