Synopsis
Twenty-three year old, Kamryn Cunningham has left all she’s ever known and moved to a small town where no one knows her name, who her parents are, or her social status in the horseracing world. Months after opening her own bakery and evading attempts of being set up by her new best friend, she meets Brody. Kamryn fights the instant pull between them because there’s a detail she can’t dismiss. Brody’s married.
To say that twenty-six year old, Brody Saco has had a rough marriage would be an understatement. After marrying his pregnant girlfriend, he spends the next six years in a relationship filled with hatred, manipulation and guilt involving a tragedy that happened five years earlier. When he keeps running into his sister-in-law’s best friend, Kamryn, he can’t ignore that she makes him feel more with just one look than his wife ever has; and soon he can’t continue fight his feelings for her.
When staying apart proves to be too difficult, Brody and Kamryn enter a relationship full of stolen moments and nights that end too soon while they wait for Brody to file for divorce. But the guilt that comes with their relationship may prove to be too much for Kamryn, and Brody might not be strong enough to face the tragedy from his past in order to leave his conniving wife.
My Review
I just had a conversation with my boyfriend on how to rate and review this book. I have never been more confused on what to say. I’m afraid if i say the wrong thing i’ll get some backlash. But isn’t that what reviewing is all about. Stating your thoughts and opinions about the novels we read.
First thing i want to say is I don’t agree with cheating. I believe there are other ways around a situation rather than betraying someone in the worst possible way. but i also don’t believe in manipulating people to get what you want. I felt sorry for Brody. All the emotional abuse he suffered in those years especially with Liv constantly blaming him for their son’s death and calling him a murderer when it was a freakin’ car accident.
I wanted to reach in the pages and punch her in the throat!!!
When it comes to novels i don’t mind reading cheating scenes because lets face it these characters are fictional and the stories are figments of the authors imagination. The reason i’m confused on how to rate this novel is because this in fact was not a made up story. Facts in this book actually happened from what ‘Note from the Author’ states.
I couldn’t help during reading the book to be on Kamryn’s side of the story and in a way that didn’t sit well with me in the beginning.
Kamryn’s story however taught me a lesson. There are two sides to every story.
What you may see on the surface isn’t always what is happening inside in other words don’t judge anyone’s situation until you get the full facts.
I admire Molly McAdam’s courage for writing Sharing You. Brody and Kamryn’s story deserved to be told. Like i said above they could have went about doing things differently like maybe forming a friendship and then getting together after he divorced his wife but Kamryn breaking up with him was his incentive to do what he should have done. It was an eye opener and after that he was aware of the manipulation and acting that Liv was doing.
Fate works in mysterious ways.
This novel was an eye opener for me.
I’m going to definitely think before i judge anyone in this situation again.
