Top Ten Tuesday: Facts about Me!

I love this weeks top ten Tuesday category. Ten (or more) Facts about me!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme created by the broke and the bookish.

I am a very random person therefore my facts about me are probably going to be just as random. So let’s get started!

Fact Number One:

I’m Terrified of Clowns

I’ve been afraid of clowns since i can remember. I never liked them. I always avoided them. The fear could be stemmed from the mobile that my mom had over my crib (My nursery was a clown theme….WHO DOES THAT!) My Mother that’s who. I recently had a festival i was helping out with. My assignment was to take photographs of anything and everything to help promote the festival for next year. Well i didn’t know at the time i agreed to play photographer that the main attraction of the festival was a traveling circus. Yep. LUCKY ME. so i asked my boyfriends stepmom if there would be clowns there. She of course looked at me like i was ignorant and said ‘It’s a circus’.
Let’s just say there are only a couple pictures of Leo the Clown. (No offense Leo but you seriously creep me out) and my boyfriend is the one that took those pictures.

Fact Number Two:

My mom and dad used to say i was the female version of Stephen King.

I have an overactive imagination so when i have nightmares they are vivid. I mean i wake up screaming and crying or laughing like a total psycho. When i was younger the dreams were so real that i would be scared to sleep at night. I mean i don’t have the normal dreams that other children had. I had dreams that could end up in a Stephen King Novel..My mom used to tell me ‘When you have a nightmare come down and tell me or your daddy about it and when you talk about it it gets wiped from your mind and you’ll never have the dream again’ Yeah that was a lie. that dream still haunts my nightmares. Maybe that’s why i don’t like to read Thrillers and i stick to romance novels.

Fact Number Three:
I Love Scary Movies!
I’m not to big on Thrillers when it comes to novels as i stated above but…i love scary movies. The only Scary movies i refuse to watch involve clowns and Dolls. When i was six maybe seven i caught my first glimpse of CHUCKY and his evil laugh. I was suppose to be sleeping at my grandma’s but i fooled her by tossing the blanket over my head. Well i was peeking out from the covers and watching Child’s Play. NIGHTMARE OVERLOAD. After i went home the next day my barbies and dolls went into the closet and never came back out. My furby went into the top dresser drawer and my real talking bubba was later locked in my hope chest. NOPE. i was done after that movie.
But i love Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the Thirteenth. Also one of my favorite movies is Thirteen Ghosts. I’ve always found it strange that i’m afraid of things that are silly like dolls and clowns but i’m intrigued by the supernatural. I don’t find ghosts to be scary i find the thought of ghosts to be comforting. Almost like maybe they’re guardian angels of some sort. ‘Unless the ghosts are the ones from thirteen ghosts then i’ll run screaming’.

Fact Number Four:
I love to write!
I have been writing a series for two maybe three years now. I hate being a perfectionist. I was told never to scrap what you write because even though your novel went in a different direction  you can always turn around and use the cut part later on down the road in a different novel!

Fact Number Five:
I have more books on my TBR bookshelf than i know what to do with!
I love going to thrift stores and the used section in the B&N that i shop at. the problem with that is i usually come out of the store with a bag of books. Now i have two bookshelves full of TBR books that i can’t seem to get caught up on because there are always new releases that i want to read coming out. That’s okay one day i’ll get through them! HOPEFULLY!!

Fact Number Six:
I love books that make me cry.
When a novel has the ability to make me cry it means the author did their job on sending their message to the reader. It means the emotions were pulled off flawlessly. It means i really connected with the characters.
Only a few authors have had the ability to make me full on “Ugly Cry”. Those Author’s Being Tillie Cole (a thousand boy kisses), J. Sterling (The perfect game series), and M. Robinson (The Good Ol’ Boys series). Yeah i shed a few tears in other novels but the ones i listed i literally had to put the book down to compose myself before i started reading again.

Fact Number Seven:
I’m addicted to 1-click on amazon!
I have a problem..i’m okay with that.

Fact Number Eight:

I Hate Airplanes.
I went to Florida a couple years ago for my boyfriends grandma’s wedding. It was my first time riding on an airplane. Of course i had some off key drunk woman sitting behind me. Everytime she would hit a high note to whatever song she was singing (honestly i couldn’t tell) she would knee the back of my seat. The first experience was horrible and i don’t intend on doing it again.

Fact Number Nine:
I grew up in a small town.
I Graduated with a class of 27 ….ten years ago…i feel old…Time flies by. The town i grew up in wasn’t called a town it was referred to as a village.

Fact Number Ten:
This is probably the one thing about me that annoys me the most.
I’m 28 years old..when i tell people my age they look at me as if i have horns growing out of the top of my head. No one  believes me. Everyone’s guess ranges from fourteen to twenty three. It’s a good thing; i know, i shouldn’t complain but honestly it gets really annoying at times especially when you go to buy a rated R movie and the cashier snobbily asks if she’s going to get a call from an angry mother later on. I love the look on there faces though when i just simply hand over my ID.

So those are ten facts about me. Some of them are bookish some are not. I hope you guys enjoyed reading my top ten Tuesday.

  1. AH! Clowns! Nope. No way! I actually declined to audition for the local opera chorus last season because one of the operas they did was about a clown. I would have had panic attacks on stage. Wouldn’t have worked out. So, I feel your pain!

  2. I feel your pain about the vivid nightmares thing. I didn’t have a lot of nightmares as a kid, but when I did it was BAD. I had this intense fear that a murderer would come through the window at night, I was so convinced I made my dad bolt the hurricane shutters on my window year round.
