2026 | June & July Wrap Up

I always feel sad when saying goodbye to July. In Michigan, it means the season of Autumn is peeking around the corner. This year, I’m excited for Autumn and all that it entails. I’m looking forward to relaxing bonfires, Garden Harvest season, and the decision of whether to bring a sweatshirt every where I go or leave it home. I’m looking forward to decorating my front porch and peaceful nights on the front porch swing with a book in my hand. Basically, Summer has been busy this year and I’m eager for the slow down that the season of Autumn usually brings. Speaking of being busy, in two months I only read two books. UGH…. WHAT!? I guess reading was placed on the backburner that is my life. So let’s dive into this very short and slightly unimpressive two month reading wrap up.

The Book I Finished In June: Risk The Play by Kaylee Ryan. I really enjoyed Will and Amanda’s age gap romance with a daughter’s best friend twist! My heart felt overjoyed throughout this novel. Frankly speaking, I’ve been in a reading funk lately and Risk The Play pulled me out of that funk for a second. Kaylee Ryan is my go to author when I’m in a book funk and looking to get out of it! I love her heartfelt romance novels!!

The Book I Finished In July: Gathering Storms by Lex Martin! I adored this one so damn much, but I expected that outcome right from the start! I’m a huge fan of rockstar romance novels, basically anything that features a musician tends to be a love for me. So imagine my excitement when Lex Martin brought a country *rockstar* to her Wild At Heart Series! And imagine how amped up m excitement was to find Jace is a new single father!! Yeah, the excitement level was pretty much through the roof! I had to have this book in my hand, and when it finally landed there I had trouble putting Gathering Storms down! Lex Martin always amazes me with the amount of emotion she brings to her novels! I loved this one!
