July was an okay month for book buying. With Mr. Man’s mom staying with us, I haven’t had the opportunity to go to any stores. I did, however, add plenty of books to my kindle unlimited shelf. So let’s dive into these books!!
Physical books I picked up in July
Mr. Man came home one day with a bookish surprise. He saw Icebreaker by Hannah Grace on an endcap at the grocery story and thought it would be something I would like! I’m excited to dive into this one and give it a whirl. Plus, Hannah Grace is a new to me author and I’m always searching for more authors to add to my list!
Icebreaker
(Maple Hills Series, Book One)
By: Hannah Grace

Amazon Paperback: https://amzn.to/4h44aoW
Synopsis:
Sparks fly when a competitive figure skater and a hockey team captain are forced to share a rink in this TikTok sensation that is perfect for fans of hockey romances like Heated Rivalry.
Anastasia Allen has worked her entire life for a shot at Team USA. It looks like everything is going according to plan when she gets a full scholarship to the University of California, Maple Hills and lands a place on their competitive figure skating team.
Nothing will stand in her way, not even the captain of the hockey team, Nate Hawkins.
Nate’s focus as team captain is on keeping his team on the ice. Which is tricky when a facilities mishap means they are forced to share a rink with the figure skating team—including Anastasia, who clearly can’t stand him.
But when Anastasia’s skating partner faces an uncertain future, she may have to look to Nate to take her shot.
Sparks fly, but Anastasia isn’t worried…because she could never like a hockey player, right?
I picked up the special edition paperback for Forged In The Fire by A.L. Jackson and let me tell you, it’s just as gorgeous as the picture shows!

Synopsis:
It was a terrible idea to agree to protect my enemy’s sister…
Don’t miss the new, dark romance from NYT bestselling author A.L. Jackson.
The second she stepped out of her brother’s car, I knew she was a wildfire. Spitting mad and so stunning she stole my breath. She thinks her brother made a deal with the devil, and by working for me, she’s paying off his debt.
She doesn’t know the real reason she’s here. Doesn’t know the danger that surrounds her. Soon, she realizes there is something sinister lurking in the shadows.
She hates me for keeping her in the dark. I want to hate her back, but with every sassy thing that leaves her mouth, she gets deeper under my skin. With each heated glance, I feel myself losing control. And when we finally end up in the same bed…I combust.
I know better than thinking I can keep her. My life is nothing but secrets and violence. But as outside threats begin to infiltrate, I’ll do anything to honor the oath I made to keep her safe. Even expose her to the monster that I am…
