Synopsis:

Brooke Fox has once again taken me on an emotional rollercoaster full of so many absolute highs and even more drastic lows. I was enamoured with the entirety of Sophie and Mason’s story! Between Promises and Regrets will definitely placed in the ‘I won’t be forgetting about this novel anytime soon’ pile.

Mason is one of my absolute favorite characters! I loved him from the first novel in the Between Us Trilogy! I knew I needed his story in my hands as soon as possible! This man is sweet to the boot and considerate, he’s also got an alpha side a mile wide and would do anything to protect the ones he loves. This man was everything I expected him to be plus so much more. I especially loved how he was with Sophie.

It has to be said, throughout the beginning of this novel, Sophie is in an abusive relationship. If that is a trigger for you, this is your warning to go into this novel with eyes wide open and expectations high around that topic. I loved Sophie in the beginning of the novel. I found her story to be inspirational. She is a woman who is fierce and also happens to be an independent violinist who acted as a protector towards her younger sisters and then in the span of a few months, she lost herself after being broken down repeatedly and became a shell of the person she once was. There was a lot to her in the first half of this novel. I loved witnessing her rise back up to becoming the person she once was, only stronger. I loved the positive effects that came after so much negative. She’s a hero in my eyes. Any human that can revive and renounce themselves after all the tragedy they went through is a hero.

Two people with two completely different but similarly tragic backstories who are destined to be together but fight it at every turn, seriously, who wouldn’t want to read this novel!!!

I’m at a loss for words after finishing Between Regrets and Promises! Half the time I was in tears, the other half I spent swooning over Mason!! Mason is what I love and expect from a book boyfriend. He truly cares for those around him. He’s sweet with a bit of a cocky side. He’s protective but not in a way that feels suffocating. I really grew to admire his strength and his patience throughout this duet.

Sophie was as sweet as can be, that’s the main reason why her situation was so hard to read at times. I legit wanted to crawl in my kindle and give this character a hug. No one deserves to go through what she went through, not even a character in a romance novel. I love when characters have a breakthrough moment. I especially loved seeing Sophie’s sassy and feisty side start to show more and more. I said this before and I’ll say it again, It was inspiring to watch her break through all the walls she had built around her heart. I loved watching her stand up for herself and fight for what’s rightfully hers. Her future.

Overall, I loved Between Regrets and Promises! If you’re looking for a romance that is going to give you that perfect, All the feels moment, look no further and pick this novel up. For those that don’t care to much for dark and gritty tales, I have to say, Between Regrets and Promises starts off on a dark note. But I also want to urge the readers to stick with this one. The darkness fades. This is a love story you aren’t going to want to miss out on!
