Synopsis:
Reese
It’s been six months since Trinity’s death and I still can’t believe she’s gone. She was the closest I ever came to having an old lady. Then those bastards took her from me, snuffed out her life while I was on a run. My brothers want the old me back, but that man’s lost in a haze of guilt and grief. I give in and agree to be set up on a blind date. I don’t expect much. I don’t even want to hear about her. It’s enough knowing Ainsley Valois is the best friend of the RC’s side piece. Once I get the damn date out of the way, they’ll get the hell off my back.
What I don’t expect is to hit it off with her and end up in her bed. The morning after gives me the shock of my life when I see my Ainsley standing next to him—Roman Mac—in a photo with a frame that says ‘Best Big Brother’. I dress and hightail my ass out of there, vowing to forget Ainsley’s existence.
Ainsley
Roman is the best big brother a girl could ask for, but also the worst. He gives new meaning to overprotectiveness. He has been my guardian since I was ten. To protect me from his enemies, he even made me use our mother’s maiden name as my last name. Roman’s entire life revolves around his club and me. My first date took place at his clubhouse. Needless to say, I haven’t been asked out much since then. My best friend is sneaking around with the Road Captain of the Kansas City Chapter of the Royal Bastards MC.
When my brother goes away for a weekend, Nova convinces me to go on a blind date with RBMC’s SAA. What better way to thumb my nose at all Roman’s stupid rules? I never expected to hit it off with Reese and I especially didn’t expect to fall into bed with him. I fell asleep after amazing sex, thinking it was the start of a great secret romance. But Reese was gone and I knew he discovered my relation to Roman. Three months later while Roman is on a run, I’m facing a crisis—get rid of the baby I conceived during my one night with the biker or find Reese and confess I’m carrying his child

These past two weeks I’ve been reading sweet romance novels with light themes and heartthrob heroes. Now that it’s getting close to summertime in Michigan, I’m craving the gritty and dangerous lifestyle that comes with MC (Motorcycle Club) romance novels! Let me just say, that Kathryn C. Kelly did NOT disappoint! She brought all the grit and all the danger to the table with Reese and Ainsley’s story! Let’s get started with this review.
All Ainsley wants is the freedom to choose her own life but being the younger sister to an enforcer in a motorcycle club leaves little to no room for those freedoms and choices. So Ainsley takes matters into her own hands and accepts the date arranged by her best friend’s boyfriend. All she wants is to lose her V Card to a man of her choosing, and Reese is the perfect man.
Reese didn’t want to go on a date, but after six months of moping around his best friend, and club brother, has had enough and sets him up with his on-the-side lady’s best friend. A night of fun may be exactly what the doctor ordered. That is until Ainsley walks up and slides into the seat across from him and offers him a one-night-only ticket in exchange for punching her V Card. Reese tries to shut down her offer, but sometimes the heart wants what it wants and Ainsley finds it hard to say no too.
But what happens, when Reese Sinclair learns that Ainsley happens to be the little sister of his sworn enemy? And what happens when his sworn enemy’s little sister shows up at his clubhouse ten weeks later with a bun in the oven… All hell is about to break loose!
My Thoughts:
Kathryn C. Kelly is a name I won’t be forgetting anytime soon!! One Night With The Biker was exactly what I wanted in an MC romance! I wanted the danger, the violence and the raw grit that comes with this sub-genre and Kathryn C. Kelly delivered all and much more than I thought was possible!
I loved Ainsley’s whole vibe. I loved her fierceness and her warrior spirit. I loved the fact that she was very talkative once she got to know you. And I loved the endless chances she gave people. And she wasn’t afraid to cut people off once they reached her breaking point of no return. My heart loved her ability to be real and honest. I loved her overall truth and her motherly ways throughout this novel. It’s just a shame that some characters in this novel didn’t realize how much of a treasure Ainsley was until it was too late.
Now let’s dive into Reese’s Character. Reese Sinclair is the enforcer of the Royal Bastards MC: Kansas City chapter. This means he’s a mean S.O.B. who isn’t afraid to extinguish an enemy in his club. I enjoyed the rough and tumble-vibes Reese brought to this novel. But I also loved the tender and sweet side of this man, especially where Ainsley is concerned. He’d move heaven and earth to protect this woman from any threat, not realizing the biggest threat was himself. There were times I wanted to knock some sense into this man, but I trusted the process that Kathryn C. Kelly had going. Whew! That was a whirlwind! It took a lot to get this man to see his heart has always belonged to Ainsley. And when he came to that conclusion, I shouted FINALLY!!
And then we have Roman, Ainsley’s older brother and the Enforcer to the Bloody Scorpions MC. Which also happens to be the enemy and rival to the Royal Bastards MC. I thought Roman’s chapters brought an extra dose of danger to this MC novel! I loved how overprotective he was when Ainsley was concerned! Having read my fair share of romance novels revolving around the MC lifestyle, I understood and appreciated Roman and his point of view chapters. I knew where this was going and I was glad to see an inside viewpoint into both clubhouses! And then the end… I loved it that much more!
Now for the reason why I gave this novel a four-star rating. I liked the overall premise of One Night With The Biker! I loved the Romeo and Juliet trope and the danger that came with it. I dropped a star because there was a little too much violence against women. I would have liked to see less violence towards the women but that’s just a preference of mine. If you find situations such as violence against women to be triggering, this may not be the novel for you
Overall, I adored Ainsley throughout her journey! I loved how she wasn’t afraid to give sass where it was earned. This woman is a warrior and is going to be a great protective mama bear! I also loved seeing the people who were taught to dislike her due to who she was associated with break their guard down and start to enjoy her company. So, if you are a fan of MC Romances with a ton of danger, grit, and all the dark vibes. If you also love age-gap romances with an unexpected pregnancy vibe you should add this one to your shelf!
