Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted byย That Artsy Reader Girl.
Todayโs category: How My Reading Habits Have Changed Over Time
I only have three changed reading habits to share with you all today. So let’s get started!
The first habit I noticed is, I’m a lot more picky when it comes to choosing advanced copies. When I first started my blog, every single upcoming new release intrigued me. I was reading 15 ARCs in one month. With home renovations, gardening, and adulting, my time for reading has become limited in certain months out of the year… I have to be a bit more choosy when it comes to the titles I’m reading.
The second habit I noticed, I’m not reading as many books as I used to read in one month so my reading goal challenge on Goodreads has dropped from 200 books a year, to 100 books a year. I’m not even sure I can make my reading goal this year. Hopefully in a year, or two, I can get back to reaching 200 books. We shall see.
And the third, and final, habit change I noticed, I don’t really read outside of the Romance genre anymore. It’s been years since I last sat down and read an autobiography or something nonfiction.
What reading habits changed for you throughout the years?
Peace Love and Happy Reading,

Maybe habit 3 is connected to habits 1 and 2, which have changed as well ๐

I think you’re right!
Iโm reading less these days, too.
Life is so busy right now. That is why I love the winter months. Everything slows down.
I read a lot less ARCs too!
I have a few authors and PR teams I get arcs from, but other than that, I love the ability to read without a set in stone schedule.
100 books is still impressive. I think my goal was 30 this year (I’m reading the 30th book now). I don’t read a lot of romance books, but I do understand sticking to certain genres. For me, those are fantasy and mystery ๐

I’m currently on my 75th book. I’m hoping i’ll be able to reach my reading goal this year…. I may have to break my rule and read a few novellas to get me there.
I’ve also become much more selective with the review books I choose to accept over the years. I still accept too many, but at least I’m only getting ones I’m actually interested in reading!
Happy TTT!

I’m with you on being more selective. I try to limit myself to accepting/requesting only ten books a month… some months prove more difficult than others. (LOL)
Oh, my gosh! Fifteen ARCs in one month. I’ll probably only do that in a year. Maybe a little more but I know I can only read one-two books a week so I try to keep my requests to a minimum.
I’m with you on staying within the romance genre. I know I’m going to like it and anything else I read feels a little forced. Although my therapist has me reading a book on boundaries. So far I checked it out from the library but that’s as far as I’ve gotten with it.
When I started reviewing books, I read many arcs. Now I’m lucky if I request and read 5 arcs a month. ๐คฃ life is so busy!
I’ve actually been reading more this year than recent years, but my work-life balance has improved this year giving me more time. I hope you have a great weekend.
