Synopsis:

Falling For Finn is the first book in Brooke Fox’s Maplewood Falls Series. If you love swoony small town romances with a grumpy hero and a sunshine heroine, this novel is definitely for you!

There once was a time when Finn wasn’t jaded, but after his long-time girlfriend leaves him, he vows to close his heart to any other woman who dares step into his life. That’s the easiest way to avoid a broken heart, in Finn’s mind. Now, he lives his life maintaining his family legacy that resides within an apple orchard. And that’s the way he likes it… That is until his grandmother hires an artist to paint a landscape of the orchard for their centennial celebration.. And tasks Finn with the duty of giving Oakley the grand tour. What could possibly go wrong.

When Oakley lands in Vermont, she never imagined her driver would be a sexy country boy. Too bad his attitude stinks. But the more Finn tries to close down, the more Oakley makes it her mission to break through that wall he has around his heart. She’ll get this man to open up, someway!

Finn’s ex-girlfriend shows up in the cottage that Oakley is currently staying at. Finn comes up with a spur of the moment plan and blurts out that Oakley is his girlfriend. A fake relationship plot, what could possibly go wrong!! Bring on the drama!!

My Thoughts:

Just a little bit of information for those who are unaware, Brooke Montgomery is writing this novel (and the Maplewood Falls series) as Brooke Fox. If you love Brooke Montgomery’s Sugarland Creek series, I have no doubts about it. You will absolutely ADORE Falling For Finn. Finn and Oakley’s story had me smiling from ear to ear. Every moment was chock-full of back and forth banter. It’s been a long time since I last felt this excited over a novel! EEK! I loved these two! Thank you, Brooke Fox, for bringing Oakley and Finn to my reading world!

Now let’s dive into the main character in Falling For Finn. Starting with the broody hero, Finn. When I say this man is broody, you can take my word for it. But what I loved most about Finn, he was broody, but beneath the surface, I felt his heart shining through. This man was scorned by his ex-girlfriend in such a way that he decided to close up his heart and put a no-vacancy sign up. I loved the grumpy vibes in one way, and then another, I felt so sad for this man

And then we have Oakley. I have to say, I freaking loved the direct detail given where Oakley’s career is involved. The smallest details when it came to her painting and the detailing in her paintings grabbed my attention to the point where even I was surprised. Maybe that means I need to get my paints out and start painting again!! I was inspired by Oakley’s character and the fact that she’s a very intelligent woman but chose to pursue her dreams of being a profound artist. My heart loved this character and the life she brought to this book. I also loved the fact that she was sassy where Finn’s attitude was concerned. She gave back what he dished out! YES! I love a novel with never-ending banter!

Overall, my heart adored Finn and Oakley’s story. What I loved the most about this novel was the merging of relationships. I loved witnessing the different stages of their relationship. With each moment, I felt that the strength of connection and chemistry grew significantly. My heart loved every moment that was shared between these two. That also includes the climactic moment that comes with every romance novel. I’m not about to add spoilers, I’ll just say, THANK YOU, for bringing so much emotion to these moments!! It could have gone the way it always seemed to go, but Brooke Fox surprised me and did justice for Oakley and Finn’s relationship! Absence makes the heart grow fonder! And that’s all I’m going to say about that moment!!

I can’t wait to read more from the Maplewood Falls Series by Brooke Fox! I’m intrigued to see where Levi’s story takes us. I have a feeling his book is going to be full of hilarious drama and a few emotional scenes! Plus, I’m really vibing with these seasonal reads! Bring on all the emotions! I’m ready!!
