This week I decided to share the books that had the biggestย emotional impact on me as a reader. I’m a sucker for a novel that can have crying at the drop of a hat. I see and hear SO much about Colleen Hoover’s novels but never read one. Mostly because from what I read, I guess I don’t think I’d enjoy them. But they’re just so popular and with the upcoming adaptation of one with Blake Lively, well, who knows! Maybe someday I’ll give one a chance. ๐
Her novels are a hit or miss with me. There are a few I loved and a few that were ‘just okay’ for me. Ugly Love and It Ends With Us both had me crying. I have a few others on my shelf that remain unread. Overall, It depends on my mood, whether to read a CoHo book or not.
The last book that made me cry? That was probably The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot. It hits the feels hard!

The last book that made me tearful was probably How To Be Brave by Louise Beech. Not a romance but a story of survival against the odds.
How To Be Brave sounds like a great read. I’ll have to look more into this novel. Sometimes I get burnt out on romance and I’ll look for something different. This book may be my something different! Thank you for bringing it to my attention!!
Tearjerkers can be so cathartic!
