Today’s category: Weird or Funny Things I’ve Googled Thanks to a Book
Reading romance novels can be great, but sometimes there are scenarios that have a reader scratching their heads or coming up empty when trying to picture what the author is trying to detail. Here are a few weird/funny things I’ve searched for due to books. I’ve probably had more funny/awkward search moments, but these are the main three that immediately come to mind.
Piercings
Where going to start this one off with the most awkward search I’ve ever had and that is piercings. I can’t begin to tell you all how many times I searched for certain piercings authors have mentioned in their novels. There are so many it’s sometimes hard to keep track of all their names and I’m a visual person, I like details when I’m reading, but sometimes those details are lost among the passion of the scene. I can’t believe how many piercings there are! Can you say, OUCH!!
Sexy Time Positioning
Again, sometimes the details get lost within the passion of the scene. Authors will describe this really weird position and often, it seems unreal that a human body can bend and twist like that almost like something only a contortionist can maneuver through. There is never a dull moment when reading romance.
Rare/Endangered Plants
I don’t remember the novel, itself, but there was something I once read, It was suspenseful and a murder mystery. The plot went into someone burying a body and planting rare plants on top of the body… Something about rare/endangered plants can’t be dug up. So off to google I went to see if police, fbi, or private detectives had permission to dig these endangered plants up for the cause of finding the victim… SOOOOO…… that was pretty awkward to look up….

Ohhh yes. There have been several occasions where #1 traumatized me 🤣 OUCH!
