Synopsis:
Gabriella Stone
Moving to LA was my dream since I was thirteen.
By the time I was twenty, I was sought out by some of the most beautiful people in the world to take their pictures.
No one cared that I came from a hockey dynasty.
Everything was perfect.
Then I met him.
It was supposed to be a one-time thing.
But it ended up being more. So much more.
Until he betrayed me.
Romeo Beckett
Growing up in LA, everyone knew I came from Hollywood royalty.
Following in my father’s legendary footsteps, I learned early on not to fall for the shallow shine of this city.
When I met her, I didn’t know she was what I’d been looking for.
In one night, I ruined everything.
She left without a second thought.
I’ve spent every day since becoming the man she deserves.
She thinks it’s over.
She’s wrong.
It’s time to win her back.

Made For Romeo is the fourth book in Natasha Maddison’s Made For Series. The Made For series is a generational spin-off from the Something So Series. If you love hockey romances, I highly recommend giving the Something So series by Natasha Madison a read, and then working your way through her generational spin-offs.
One night, one wrong choice, and one mistake cost Romeo Beckett the love of his life. He’s spent the last eight months trying to fix himself through therapy and deep soul searching. Now, he’s in Dallas ready to win back the woman who owns his heart.
Gabriella Stone never knew pain or felt her heartbreak, until one fateful night, she walked in on the love of her life with another woman. Since that moment, she’s been trying to erase Romeo Beckett from her thoughts, her future wishes, and her past. But some people aren’t so easy to forget, especially when the man is standing on her doorstep, with his heart in his hands and an apology on his lips….
My Thoughts:
Made For Romeo is a tad bit different than the three books that came before. You see, we have two series spinoffs in one novel. First we have Gabriella Stone, daughter of hockey star Justin Stone and his wife Caroline Stone. You can read their story in This Is Forever. We also have Romeo Beckett the son of legendary actor, Tyler Beckett and his wife, renowned Journalist, Jessica Hawthorne.
I loved the fact that we are not only given two generational spinoff novels but we’re also given a crossover twist! It was great to see where the characters from past novels are today! I loved that aspect of the story most of all.
There is no denying, Romeo has the sex appeal and the swoon down to an art. But there was more to this man than all that. Here is a man who truthfully regrets his past choices. Usually when the hero is first portrayed as a cheater, I have a hard time trusting him. However, with Romeo it was different. I felt his sorrow and his regret. I’m not ashamed to admit, I was quick to forgive this man.
I felt sorry for Gabriella and the battle between heart and brain that she went through during the entirety of this novel. Here is a woman who had her heart shattered into a million pieces, and when she feels like she’s finally able to get over the heartbreak, the man who inflicted so much pain is back in her life. I don’t blame her for going back and forth with her emotions. To trust or not to trust, that was the true question.
I loved watching Romeo and Gabriella reconnect and fall in love. There was no issue with those moments. My issues and the reasoning behind why I dropped a star in my rating was simply due to the fact that the ending went by too quickly. I wanted more from their ending, I felt like I didn’t get that epic happily ever after I craved.
I do have to say, I loved the two families meeting at the end of the novel. That was a highlight that pushed a 3 ½ star rating up to a 4 star rating.
Overall, Made For Romeo was a great read, but I was a little underwhelmed with the ending. I wanted more spark, more heat, but most of all, I wanted to witness Romeo and Gabriella living out their ultimate happily ever after. I wanted more for them in the end.
