What were the last three books you read?

My Answer:

The last three books I finished were Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire (re-read), Fire by Abby Brooks, and Kissing My Brother’s Bride by Molly McLain (Advanced Copy). All three books I gave a four star rating and all three books I really enjoyed, I just wanted a little bit more from certain parts of each novel.

This was my third time reading Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. When I tell you I was a fan of this novel damn near ten years ago, I’m not lying. This book has always been one of my most recommended novels. I decided to read this book, one more time, after watching the movie adaptation and being slightly disappointed. Travis Maddox and Abby Abernathy stole my heart once more, in this novel! Sadly, this read through, I decided to drop my star rating from a 5 to a 4 due to a few moments in the book that annoyed the life out of me… I didn’t see that coming.

I also read Fire by Abby Brooks. I liked this one too, but sadly it wasn’t an over the moon love for me. I’m a fan of the secret baby trope, but this one didn’t do the trope justice. I needed a few more one on one scenes to get that connection between father and daughter. Also, there was way to much second guessing going on. There were awe moments and their were cringe moments… By the ending, I just wanted them all to be a happy family.

I just finished Kissing My Brother’s Bride by Molly McLain. I enjoyed the hell out of this book! I loved the friendship morphed into relationship morphed into an ultimate happily ever after vibe. The only thing I didn’t really care for with this novel was the slow burn aspect… Usually I like a good slow-burn just like the next romance reader, but with these two, I wanted the spice and the heat! I understand the need for the slow-burn aspect due to the sensitive time situation, but I’m a selfish reader and I wanted that passion and heat earlier on. Other than that, I really loved this novel!
