Question Of The Day:
How did you get into reading?

My Answer:

As far as my memories go, I always loved reading, even before I could read, I can easily thank my current reading addiction on my mother and my grandmother. My mom loved harlequin romance novels, and my grandmother loved True Romance Magazine. So as far back as I can remember, i’ve always loved reading and literature.

Throughout the years of adolescence reading was a start and stop game for me. There were moments when I’d rather watch television, but then I’d hear a friend of family member gush about a new series, or I’d see a book in the library that intrigued me and then I’d be all about reading again. I remember when i was in the fifth grade, I went into the ‘big kids’ section of our school library and there i found V.C. Andrews and the Landry Series. This series had me falling in love with not only the Cajun lifestyle, but also my love for book series and my love/hate relationship with standalones.

There was a bit of a reading slowdown after I graduated high school… we’re talking two years of a reading hiatus. Then my sister introduced me to the Twilight Saga and I’ve been hooked on reading every since! Back then, I wanted to read all the Vampire books and paranormal/fantasy style books.

    1. Mothers and grandmothers are the best! I have so many memories of grandma in her recliner with a harlequin book and me lying on a pile of blankets on the floor with a random chapter book from the library. I have so many memories of moments like this one.
