I’ve been sitting here at my computer for the last week and a half, trying to put my feeling about Say It’s Forever on paper… It’s damn near impossible to review this book without spoilers. In all honest, this may just be the hardest book I’ve ever had to review and that reasoning is because this book had a sudden and out of nowhere impact on me mentally and emotionally. It has to be said, and I actually recall saying this in one other review I wrote regarding A.L. Jackson’s novels… A.L. Jackson puts the bottom of her heart and her very soul into her words, but it shined the brightest between the pages of Say It’s Forever…. It’s been a long damn time since an author has rendered me speechless. But should this really surprise me, time and time again I closed a novel by this author only finding my heart craving more. And this is why she will always be one of my top three favorite authors.
Now let’s get to what Say It’s Forever is all about! Say It’s Forever is the second book in the Redemption Hills Series by A.L. Jackson and can be read as a standalone.
Salem is a single mother on the run from a very dark past. She’s desperate to find a safe place, a place where her and her daughter are protected. That’s all she wants from life, is to escape and finally be free of her past. If I had to pick a favorite heroine from A.L. Jackson’s collection of novels, hands down, it would be Salem. I loved this woman’s fierceness when it came to protecting her daughter. She’ll go anywhere and do anything to see her little girl live a safe and healthy life. The more I read of Salem’s story, the more I was invested! My heart broke for her time and time again.
Then we have Mr. Stud himself, Jud Lawson. Jud has a past that he hasn’t been able to grow from. And I’m not about to tell you all what that past entails, but his past is as dangerous as it is dark. Now this man lives his days designing and building custom bikes and laying low and waiting for his past to one day return. This man is pure masculinity. One minute he’s this gruff bad ass and then the very next he’s sweet and enduring. This man is an anomaly. He’s exactly what I look for in a bad boy book boyfriend. What I loved most of all, though, was his fierce protective nature when it came to Salem and her daughter,
And let’s not forget the star of the book, Salem’s daughter, Juniper! This little girl is beyond precious. She was a shining light among the darkness. She brought a sense of innocence to a novel revolving around danger. I loved the connection Salem had with her daughter and I loved the moments between Juni and Jud. My heart can’t get past these three characters and this story line.
I’ve been trying my hardest to avoid spoilers, so in fear of giving away any spoilers I’ll leave you all with this. There were so many moments when I tried to predict the ending to this novel. So many scenarios popped into my head and still I was wrong on all counts! A.L. Jackson pulled the rug out from under my feet with this one! Say It’s Forever is going to be a hard novel to top and that’s why I decided to add this one to the very top of my 2022 Favorite Romances list!
I highly recommend this one to those who love their romances with a bit of darkness and a lot of danger! Definitely pick this one up, you won’t be sorry!
