My 10 Favorite Love Triangles in Romance

TTT (1).png

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Todayโ€™s category:  Books With Your Favorite Trope/Theme

I went back and forth, for several hours, on which trope I wanted to post about. There are so many tropes I love and tropes I find to be absolutely addicting. I went on and on and on, my brain wouldnโ€™t stop. But through all the chaos one trope kept coming to the front of every thought. Thereโ€™s either a love or a hate when it comes to this trope, hardly ever a middle ground. And sometimes I love it and the tears it brings me, while other times I hate itโ€ฆ and the tears it tends to bring me. This trope is the LOVE TRIANGLE trope.

Here are 10 of my favorites!

Thoughtless Taking Chances (Taking Chances Series Book 1) The Vincent Boys Collide: Book One in the Collide Series

Avoiding Commitment The Mighty Storm (The Storm Book 1) CARNAGE: Book #1 The Story Of Us One True Loves: A Novel

Beautiful Disaster: A Novel Down to You (A Bad Boys Novel Book 1)

Thoughtless Series – S.C. Stephens
Taking Chances Series – Molly McAdams
Vincent Boys Duet – Abbi Glines
Collide Duet – Gail McHugh
Avoiding Series – K.A. Linde
The Mighty Storm – Samantha Towle
Carnage Series – Lesley Jones

  1. Love triangles are my least favorite trope, lol. However, if they’re done right and not just a vehicle for conflict, then I’m usually okay with them. Most of the time, though, I don’t think they’re necessary. I’m glad you have a love/hate relationship with them because it makes me feel better about not liking them, lol.

    1. I agree with you. The stories definitely have to be written a certain way for me to find them intriguing. To often the love triangle trope is used as a form to cause unnecessary drama between the hero and heroine towards the end of the novels. I’m not into that. But if it has to do with a H/h having a heart and soul battle throughout the course of the novel.. you can sign me up for that. My love/hate relationship is strong when it comes to this trope. There is rarely ever any middle ground.

  2. I am not a fan of love triangles… Maybe that’s why I didn’t end up picking up Collide. I hated Taking Chances and Thoughtless. BUT I did love The Vincent Boys.

    1. The love/hate relationship I have with this trope is real and sometimes shattering. The trope definitely has to be written the right way. Often times it’s written the wrong way…. I’m sorry Thoughtless wasn’t a good read for you. To be honest, I’m a tad bit scared to go back and give it a re-read….. I’m scared it won’t live up to the hype I put on it. One day I’ll be brave enough to re-read it. LOL.

As for the Vincent Boys!!! YES! This is the book that had me falling for Abbi Glines’ writing style! Every time I see one of her books at my used book store, I immediately pick it up without reading the blurb…
