A simple arrangement. A complicated future.

Lia Dove has always been a free spirit, living life to the fullest and never putting down roots. But after finding her birth father, along with a group of lovable, rowdy bikers, she can’t imagine being anywhere else. Throw in a hot biker roommate who offers her no-strings-attached deal as the cherry on top and leaving becomes an afterthought.

Leo Hawk has never felt part of anything until he becomes a prospect in a local motorcycle club. But catching feelings for his roommate, who’s also the club president’s daughter, could spell disaster before he earns his patch.

But when the past comes back to haunt him thanks to his missing older brother, Leo will have to lean on his biker brothers for help, risking a future with the club and the woman he’s grown to love.

Broken Dove is an interconnected standalone friends-to-lovers, motorcycle club romance, but can be read and enjoyed alone.

Broken Dove is the second book in the Open Road Series by Chelle Bliss. I loved the first book in the series (Broken Sparrow) and I knew I had to get my hands on the second book as soon as I possibly could. In Broken Sparrow Leo and Lia intrigued me and I couldn’t wait to witness these two give into their feelings and proclaim their love for one another.

There were things I loved about Broken Dove, but I also had a few mixed opinions about this one. I loved Lia’s wild child spirit and the vulnerability that was hidden beneath the surface. I loved Leo’s jealousy and fierce need to protect Lia. I also loved the suspense and the fact that I couldn’t predict this one, even when I tried to over and over again.

Now onto the reasoning why I gave this one a 3 star. And let’s just state the facts right now, I’m going to chalk this up to spoiled reader syndrome because that’s what it is. There were more than a few moments when I felt myself drifting away from this novel. There were also moments I couldn’t stop reading, my emotions and my feelings towards this couple were a constant whirlwind. I needed a little bit more to push it up to a four star rating. I wanted more where Lia’s backstory was concerned. I wanted more of a connection and a relationship between her and her father. I was looking for that epic all around happily ever after moment…

Overall, I have to say I loved the suspense in Broken Dove, but I wanted more where the relationship aspect is concerned. I, however, can’t wait to see what Chelle Bliss comes up with next. I can’t get enough of her writing style!
