Whiskey Moon, the newest standalone by Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author, Winter Renshaw is AVAILABLE NOW.

Blurb:
A broken marriage pact gives way to a devastating love that won’t let go in this heart wrenching contemporary romance from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Winter Renshaw.
Bogie had Bacall. Carrie had Big. I had Wyatt.
Growing up, he was the handsome cowboy next door, an unlikely confidant, my best friend, my first kiss, and my favorite person.
We were just a couple of small town kids with ambitions bigger than the stars in our eyes. The summer after graduation, we made a pact: I’d go to college in New York and he’d stay and take over his daddy’s ranch. If by twenty-eight we were both still single, we’d get married …
But as we stood in our high school gymnasium the night of our ten-year reunion, Wyatt told me he loved me too much to marry me.
He’d never broken a promise to me in his life, but in a single heartbeat he broke the only one that ever mattered.
He said it would all make sense someday, that there would come a time I might even be able to forgive him.
But then I stumbled upon the truth.
And there was no forgiving a secret this shattering—one that made me question if I ever knew him at all; one that only made me want him that much more.
Bogie had Bacall. Carrie had Big. I had Wyatt.

I requested an advanced copy of Whiskey Moon by Winter Renshaw for two simple reasons. The first being the emotionally enhanced blurb, I’ve been dying to get my hands on novels that have the potential to tug at my heartstrings and bring the ultimate ‘all the feels’ moments to the pages. And number two, Winter Renshaw is a new to me author and I’ve been trying to venture outside my typical author reading box and find some new authors to binge. I’m happy to say, these two boxes immediately had check marks next to them! I loved everything about Whiskey Moon!
In My Own Words:
It’s a town legend that if you make a wish under the Whiskey Moon, it’s supposed to come true. But that isn’t the case for high school sweethearts, Blaire and Wyatt.
On Blaire’s last night in Wyoming, She and Wyatt make a marriage pact. If their both still unwed by their tenth high school reunion, they’ll get married. Until then, Wyatt wants Blaire to reach for her dreams of being a successful Broadway actress. They say if you love something, let it go and if it comes back it was meant to be yours.
Ten years later, Blaire is back in Wyoming with a broken heart she’s looking to finally mend. After nine years of being ghosted by the only man she’s ever loved, she’s about to get the answers she’s searched for. Mainly the answer for why Wyatt ghosted her all those years ago. But some answers will come as quite a surprise and the ultimate betrayal hangs heavy in the air.
My Thoughts:
I went into this novel unaware of what I was getting myself into. I hadn’t the slightest clue that this novel would completely consume me. I had no clue that I would be up at all hours of the night because I had to read one more chapter. I had no clue how hard I would fall for these characters… but in the end, I fell head over boots for these two and their story. Winter Renshaw is now on my list of authors to read more from!! It’s simple, I love angst and the more emotion an author can pull from me, the more memorable the book is. With Whiskey Moon, I was intrigued by the storyline and by the small amounts of suspense throughout this novel. I loved the passion throughout all the ups and downs.
Now onto the characters. First of all let me say, I love the strong and silent type. A man who speaks only when he has something important to say. He doesn’t waste his words on random filler talk. And all this is why I loved Wyatt’s personality. This man was put through the emotional wringer. He loved a girl, he let said girl go off and live her dreams, he promised her forever, then he lost his dad, and then, unbeknownst to her, he was given a choice to either let her go and cut off all contact with her or lose his family’s ranch. I felt for this man, having to give up the only person he has ever loved in order for his mother not to lose everything really had my heart breaking for this man. I wanted to reach into my kindle and hug the hell out of him and his family for all they’ve been through.
And then we have Blaire. Blaire left Wyoming all those years ago with the expectations of pursuing her dream with her family and Wyatt by her side. Never in a million years would she imagine the only man she ever loved to basically stop answering her calls and her every attempt to reach him. Now ten years later, she’s back in Wyoming and ready to give the Walkaway Joe a piece of her mind. I loved the feisty exterior she put up to hide the heartbreak consuming her.
What I loved most about this novel though was the fact that these two were clearly made for one another. Even through their most emotional state of minds and even when they tried to bury their feelings down, the love they still had for one another shined bright. Ah! I love a good redemption story!
Now onto the suspense/mystery aspect of this novel. Throughout the novel, and throughout the many emotional and heartbreaking conversations Wyatt and Blaire had, there was always one constant thought running through my mind… Who is responsible for meddling in this relationship. And to be honest, I always had an inkling who it was and just to clarify, I was correct on my prediction. So I wish the mystery behind the culprit was a little more of a mystery. And at the end of the day, I wanted to feel that ‘holy shit, I didn’t see that one coming’ moment, that moment not coming was one of the two reasons behind why I rated this novel 4 stars instead of 5. The other reasoning behind my rating has to do with the ending. I wanted more from Blaire and I guess I wanted that ultimate reconciliation moment between her and said culprit. I felt the ending was a tad bit rushed for my liking. I would have liked to see more of Wyatt and Blaire in their happiest of happily ever after moments given all the shit they were put through. I wanted a little bit more from them.
Overall, I really enjoyed this novel, aside from two small factors, and I can’t wait to read more from Winter Renshaw in the very near future!! I loved the way she built this second chance romance. I loved the highs and lows of Blaire and Wyatt. Not to mention Mr. Wyatt Buchanan checks off nearly all of my book boyfriend boxes. And here I go rambling again.
I’ll leave you all with this, I plan to read more from Winter Renshaw soon as I end this review! I can see this author being added to my top author’s list by the end of the year! I loved her writing style so much! She drew me in from the very first chapter!!
