My initial thought when I first started Give Me A Reason by A.L. Jackson was pure excitement! I was thrilled to see her merging towards one of my all time favorite tropes and I was curious to see what she would bring to the table. If you all are new to A.L. Jackson, let me tell you, this author has a crazy way of twisting and turning tropes to her liking and with this MC romance, she definitely pulled out the big guns and brought something brand spanking new to the table.

This next portion of my review is going to be as spoiler free as possible! Trust me when I say, you all won’t want to miss out on this book!

Give Me A Reason is the first book in the Redemption Hills series. If you are a fan of suspense ridden tales with biker, single father, and small town themes you are in for a spectacular treat!
This book is told in both Trent and Eden’s point of view.

All Eden Murphy wants out of life is to help her father save the one thing that means the most to both of them. After all, it’s just the two of them working to survive in this cold world. So behind her father’s back, Eden gets a second job at a night club/bar called Absolution. Little does she know, walking into the bar is about to change her entire journey through life.

The past six years, Trent Lawson has lived in Redemption Hills, California protecting the ones he loves from his past demons. Hiding out and laying low is how he, his brothers, and his little boy have survived these past years.

One look at Eden and Trent knows she’s going to be trouble for his cold black heart. She’s the light to his dark, the day to his knight, and the heaven to his hell. But staying away from her is harder than he initially thought it would be. And pretty soon the two of them are diving head first into temptations deep dark waters. Unbeknownst of the consequences and the secrets that lay beneath the surface.

My Thoughts:

It’s official!!! Give Me A Reason is my new favorite novel written by A.L. Jackson!! From the heart to the heat, Trent and Eden’s story had me falling head over heels in love! There wasn’t a moment I can even remotely criticize.

Trent destroyed my heart, Eden healed my heart, and young Gage completely stole my heart!!

I couldn’t, for the life of me, put this one down.

Let’s start with Trent. Trent Lawson had a rough start to life, as did his brothers. His father was ruthless and his mother was an angel just looking to get her and her babies out of the Motorcycle Club lifestyle. Now, years later Trent finds himself following through with his mother’s main mission. This man is so honorable, but he lets the darkness of his past weigh him down. Not going to lie, my heart shattered for all this man and his brothers went through. One thing I found admirable about Trent though, throughout all of his demons and all the darkness surrounding him he never once let that darkness, nor his demons, touch his son.

Now let’s talk about Eden. Eden is an anomaly of sorts. This woman’s life has been put through the emotional wringer…. I’m not going to disclose why because of spoilers…. Throughout everything she has been through, she still has this purity about her. I loved her angelic vibe. But beneath the surface there lays a stubborn streak a mile wide and an ocean deep. When Eden sees something she wants she goes after it, when someone in her family needs help, she moves heaven and earth to find a solution. I also found her character admirable.

And then we have Trent’s son, Gage. This little boy is the heart of the story. I loved his innocence, especially given the dark world surrounding him. It shows his father did a perfect job of protecting this little boy from all the demons surrounding their small family. What I loved most about Gage is his ability to connect with those around him. I loved the joking moments, but then I think I loved the serious moments even more. Gage tugged at all my heartstrings. Like father, like son.

I’m a sucker for Motorcycle Club romances. And in all honesty, the direction A.L. Jackson went with Give Me A Reason shocked me to the core. I never read an MC romance like this before, and trust me, I read my fair share of biker romances. I loved the direction this story went. I loved the fact that I could not, for the life of me, predict the outcome of this novel!! So in the end, A.L. Jackson shocked the hell out of me!!…. And because of spoilers…. That is all I’m going to say about that…

One thing I’ve come to appreciate from A.L. Jackson’s writing style is the amount of emotion she packs into her novels. Whether it be from the heartbreaking moments or the heartwarming laugh my ass off moments, there was and is never a moment when I’m not feeling some sort of emotion. And that’s what I’ve come to love about this author. So if you love biker romances with angst, suspense, sexy single father vibes, and a heaping amount of trouble don’t hesitate to pick up this book!

Hands down, this is my new favorite from A.L. Jackson!
I can’t wait to see what’s coming next within this series!
Ah, the anticipation is killing me!!
