TTT (1).png

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted byย That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week is a new bookish category in which we get to brag about our favorite books that fit with the weekโ€™s category. You can pick your top 5, 10, 15โ€ฆor so on. I tend to keep my list to ten!

Todayโ€™s category: Titles or Covers That Made Want to Read/Buy the Book

This week I decided to pick my favorite swoony and sweet romance book covers.ย

Choose Me by [RC Boldt]Choose Me – RC Boldt
Trope(s):
Emotionally heart-wrenching coming-of age romance

Wearing the nicest suit I own, I stand in the very back with a flask full of whiskey in my inner pocket. I put on a brave face as I watch her walk down the aisle.

Because itโ€™s too late.

I refuse to be the bastard who makes her cry on her wedding day, but Iโ€™m dying to tell her what Iโ€™ve always known. Sheโ€™s my best friend, but she doesnโ€™t realize she owns my f*cking heart and soul, too.
ย
Each step down that aisle takes her farther away from me and brings her closer to him, forcing me to face the truth: Iโ€™ve fallen in love with someone who canโ€™t be mine. If sheโ€™d just turn around, maybe sheโ€™d realize I love her more than he ever could.

I wonโ€™t ruin her perfect day, but my broken heart begs me to try and convince her.

Choose me.

Unforgettable: A Small Town Second Chance Sports Romance (Cloverleigh Farms Book 5) by [Melanie Harlow]

Unforgettable – Melanie Harlow
Trope(s):
Emotional Small Town Romance

Back then, I had it all.

Wicked fastball. Killer instinct. Cocky grin. Full package.

(And believe me, I knew how to score.)

My senior year, I was a first round draft pick with a two-million-dollar signing bonus. Before I could even legally buy myself a beer, I made my Major League debut.

Point is, I was invincible.

Until one day I wasnโ€™t.

After tanking my careerโ€”during the World Series, no lessโ€”the last thing I want to do is return to my hometown, where every jerk in a ball cap has an opinion about what went wrong with my arm. So when my sister drags me back to town for her wedding, I vow to get in and out of there as quickly as possible.

Then I run into April Sawyer.

In high school we were just friends, but Iโ€™d always wanted her, and Iโ€™d never forgotten herโ€”the red hair, the incredible smile, the crazy, reckless thing we did in the back of my truck the night we said goodbye. Itโ€™s been eighteen years, but one look at her and I feel like my old self again. I can still make her laugh, she can still take me down a notch, and when the chemistry between us explodes, itโ€™s even hotter this time aroundโ€”and I donโ€™t want it to end.

But just when I think Iโ€™m ready to let go of the past and get back in the game, life throws me a curveball I never saw coming.

Silver-Tongued Devil (Rough Riders) by [Lorelei James]

Silver-Tongued Devil – Lorelei James
Trope(s): Historical Western Romance

Their love story sparked a brush fire that grew into the legacy of Lorelei James’s Rough Riders series. This standalone historical romance is a prequel to the McKay family saga.

The West doesnโ€™t get much wilder than Silas McKay. Heโ€™s earned his cowboy reputation not just as a rancher, but as a brawling card sharp whoโ€™s short on cash but long on charm. And just as soon as he claps eyes on the pretty new schoolteacher? Well, Dinah Thompson is about to discover what courtinโ€™s like McKay-styleโ€”sweet, hot and passionate.

Luckily, Dinahโ€™s got the sass and sense to stand up to Silasโ€™s shenanigans. She relocated to rural Wyoming to teach and become a self-reliant woman, not to spend her nights dreaming about that blue-eyed rogue and his ranchwork honed-body. But Silas McKayโ€™s powerful appeal and tempting promises convince Dinah to recklessly go all in with him.

When Silasโ€™s long-standing rivalry with Zeke West puts Dinah, Silas and his twin brother Jonas in danger, each one is forced to make difficult decisions about taking a chance to build their legacy . . . and a love that transcends time.

Glow (Brewed Book 3) by [Molly McAdams]

Glow – Molly McAdams
Trope(s): Second Chance Small Town Romance

Iโ€™m the only Dixon brother to step up when our family crumbled.
When I took over the ranch, I lost everything, career included.
My heart hadnโ€™t been in it anyway. It couldnโ€™t. A girl left with it over a dozen years ago.

Now sheโ€™s back.
Different hair. New style. Kid clutching her hand.
Not a trace of the Madison Black I knew. A down-home girl with the sweetest smile and drawl. The rebel with a spirit that glowed so bright.

But with one conversation, that girl starts to reappear.
One kiss, the years apart fade away.
One night, I vow to never let her go again.

But some pasts refuse to stay buried. And when the heart-wrenching truth behind her leaving is revealed, it might ruin us all.

Book Cover

The Sun and her Star – Dylan Allen
Trope(s): Coming Of Age, Angst, Second Chance, Friends To Lovers

Graham was born to be a star.
Once upon a time, that star shone only for me.

Now, I have to share him with the rest of the world.

For a while, I thought I could do it. Because, beneath the hypnotic smile, gorgeous body and God-given charm that made him famous, I still caught glimpses of my best friend.

Of the boy who called me sunshine and loved me.

I wore that love like a crown . . . until he placed it on anotherโ€™s head.

Losing him was agony, distance felt like the only cure.

When tragedy reunites us after years apart, it only takes one touch to erase the past. Just like that, I’m back in his arms.
He promises this time will be different. But Iโ€™m afraid to believe him.

Because behind his starโ€™s blinding brilliance is a darkness that doesnโ€™t want to let him go.

I know a star that bright canโ€™t belong to just one person, but my jealous heart doesnโ€™t want to share him.

I want all of him . . . even if wanting what doesn’t belong to me leads me to ruin.

Trope(s):
Friends To Lovers Small Town Romance

McKenna

Iโ€™ve always had a thing for my best friendโ€™s older brother. In fact, Iโ€™ve been planning our wedding since elementary school. Then I grew up, moved away, and studying, and law school became my only focus.

Now that Iโ€™m back, the sexy cowboy is everywhere I turn. I shouldnโ€™t mind so much as Rip Callahan is all levels of fine. My problem? His presenceโ€ฆ his attention is sending me in a spin. And our re-connection? Itโ€™s fast and intense and everything Iโ€™ve ever dreamed of.

So why am I getting in my own way?

Rip
I didnโ€™t know the first kiss I ever had would still play on my mind over ten years later. But with beauty and brains, McKenna Dawson is under my skin and very much off-limits.

Crushing on my sisterโ€™s best friend isnโ€™t the worst part. That connection? I canโ€™t ignore it. Should I fight it? Probably. Do I want to? Absolutely not.

A challenge among friends is all it takes for me to know sheโ€™s what Iโ€™ve been missing. That and one incredible trip with those same friends means thereโ€™s no going back. Not for me.

It was only supposed to be a weekend, but maybe we were meant to be forever after all.

The Varsity Dad Dilemma by [Lex Martin]

The Varsity Dad Dilemma – Lex Martin
Trope(s): New Adult/College Athlete, single father, Second Chance, Small Town

Whatโ€™s worse than having Rider Kingston, the star quarterback, give you the big brushoff because he doesnโ€™t want to get serious? Youโ€™d probably think living across the street from him where you get a first-hand view of his hookups, right?

Thatโ€™s what I thought. Until someone drops off a baby with a note pinned to her blanket that says one of those jocksโ€”either Rider or one of his roommatesโ€”is the father. The problem? Baby mama doesnโ€™t mention which of these numbskulls is the sperm donor.

I wouldnโ€™t care about their paternity problemsโ€”not the slightest bitโ€”except my brother lives there too. Which means that adorable squawking bundle might be my niece, and thereโ€™s no way Iโ€™m leaving her unattended with those bumbling football players.

They need my help, even if they donโ€™t know it yet. Once we solve this dilemma and figure out whoโ€™s the daddy, Iโ€™m out.

Iโ€™ll just ignore Rider and those soul-searing looks he gives me every time I reach for the baby. He broke my heart three years ago. He wonโ€™t get a second chance.

  1. These are so swoony! I love what you did with this post. I wish I would have thought of it myself. I kind of want to read The Sun and Her Star after seeing the cover here.

    1. Have you heard of the Mason Creek Series. It’s a series of small town romances and each book in the series is by a different author. I’ve read the first three books and the eighth book in the series, all were sweet and swoony. There are a few sexy time scenes towards the end but they aren’t over the top and can easily be skipped over. The series is also on Kindle Unlimited if that helps.
