Blurb:

A one-night stand with James Ryne, the hottest actress in LA, was a night I’d never forget…

James: I can’t stop thinking about you.
Brett: I didn’t know America’s sweetheart was such a dirty girl.
James: It gets better.
Brett: You’re too young for me.
James: Eighteen’s the age of consent.
Brett: The things I want to do to you right now…
James: Are you ever going to tell me who you really are?
Brett: The best you’ve ever had. That’s all you need to know.
James: When are you coming back to LA?
Brett: Next week–and you’d better not be wearing panties.
Brett: What the hell did I just watch?
James: Oh my God, Brett! It’s going viral!
James: My life is ruined. My career. My reputation.
James: Are you there?
James: Will you let me explain?
James: Brett?
Brett: Forget everything I said before. Forget us.

I tried to forget her…until she walked into my office, begging to get signed.

Signed by Marni Mann is another great novel, from a brand new to me author. I’m loving this new adventure I decided to take where I binge all the new to me authors on my bookshelf! This is the second book I’ve picked up in the span of three days, and I loved it!

In My Own Words:

Signed by Marni Mann is the first book in her, The Agency series. This age gap romance revolves around Hollywood’s sweetheart, James Ryne, and her new agent, Brett Young.

James Ryne is known as Hollywood’s very own sweetheart. Her talents come natural. Being at the top of her industry is exactly where she dreamed of beings since she was thirteen years old. When her world comes crashing down, she’s quick to learn those she thought she could depend on, can’t be depended on. In the blink of an eye, everyone she thought she could trust, turns their backs on her.

Now it’s come down to her manager, calling in one of business’s top agents, Brett Young, to come save the day and help Hollywood’s sweetheart clean up her image. But in doing so, James comes face to face with one of the many people who turned their back on her. He was a one night stand, who lasted for a month. He was everything she didn’t know she needed, until he ran during her darkest hour. Can she find it in her soul to push down her walls and allow Brett back in, or will they crash and burn.

My Thoughts:

Judging by this book, I can already see Marni Mann knows how to weave a sinfully delicious tale. I was swept away to the point where I had a hard time putting this book down. I started it at nine at night and finished at three in the morning. I call that total dedication!! I was blown away!! I’ll definitely be adding Marni Mann to my list of authors to watch out for!

There was so much I loved about Signed. I loved the drama! I loved the scorching hot sexy time moments! And I loved the slight taboo vibes! Let’s just go with the fact that I loved nearly everything about this novel!! Brett and James are FIRE!!!

Brett is the top leading agent in the acting world, and given the fact that he’s Miami’s most eligible bachelor is the icing on a decadent cake. Being thirty years old, he has the world in his hands and he deserves every accolade that comes to him. You can’t be called the best by not being the best. This man is a serious beast when it comes to his work and…. other aspects of his life. One minute he had my heart swooning and then the very next moment I was fanning myself with my paperback. Holy hell, this book is hot as sin!

i loved James and her sweetheart mentality. But being eighteen, there’s a lot she still has left to learn. For starters, she needs to learn who to trust and who to stay away from. She needs to trust her heart more and her head less. She needs to trust her gut instincts. I loved the fact that she came out of her shell with Brett. She was dealt a rough hand and she handled it like any normal eighteen year old girl would handle tragedy. Without giving away spoilers lets just say every single person got what was coming to them!!

Now onto a main point that can make or break a novel within this trope, that point being the age gap point. James Ryne is newly turned eighteen years old and Brett Young is a thirty year old. They meet at a Hollywood bar where James is out celebrating with her best friend Eve. There are drinks thrown in the mix and James eventually goes home with Brett, thus a one night stand. My honest opinion, I honestly forgot all about the age gap perspective throughout this novel. Having acted since she was a young girl, James’ character was wise beyond her years. I loved her and Brett together. I honestly never felt those squeamish vibes of *he’s too old for her*. And trust me when I say, I was waiting for those vibes to hit me out of nowhere. Thank god, that didn’t happened.

Do I recommend this novel?

If you love age gap romance with a slight erotic approach, then the answer would be HELL YES!
If you don’t love down and dirty sex in the novels you read and you despise age gap romances, then the obvious answer is too avoid this novel. In the end it’s up to what you, as a reader, can handle and what you like. The ball is in your court. As for me, I cannot wait to get my hands on the other three books in The Agency series. I need Max and Eve’s story!!!
