synopsis:

Sometimes trying to catch a star will light your whole world on fire….

Emily’s entire existence is wrapped up in touring with her up-and-coming country rock band Carolina George and trying to build them into a music legend. Her passionate night with a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy was the result of too much time on the road, too much tequila and combustible physical chemistry. It was never supposed to follow her into the light of day, much less threaten everything she and the band have worked so hard to create.

Royce’s night with the lead singer of Carolina George was the worst mistake of his life. He needs the band to sign on to his record label or his family will pay the price. But will his irresistible attraction to Emily destroy his carefully laid plans?

Royce’s past is littered with mistakes and heartache – will his love for Emily be just one more tragedy?

Catch Me When I Fall is the second book in A.L. Jackson’s Falling Stars Series. Royce and Emily’s novel can be read as a standalone.

All Emily wants to do is sing her soul out and leave her heart on the stage. That’s what she was born to do. Or so that’s what she thought a few months back when her life imploded and her greatest fears came to the surface. Now all she wants to do is fade into the dark and the only way to do that is to give up her dream.

Royce is out for vengeance. He won’t be satisfied until he has one man in prison and the other man’s blood on his hands. He’ll do whatever it takes to see to it that the men who took everything important away from him pay for their actions.

When Royce meets Emily, he knows what he has to do. He has to dig beneath the surface and uncover Emily’s deepest darkest secret. In her secret she holds the keys to Royce’s ultimate revenge and payback.

My Thoughts:

Royce is the Sexy As Sin and Deliciously Dangerous bad boy.
Emily is the Sweet as Sugar up and coming country star.
He’s the only one who can protect her from her greatest fear.
She’s the only one who can tear down the walls around his heart.

My heart is a sucker at fate showing its finest. Royce and Emily is just that. It’s a means of fate. I couldn’t get enough!!!
A.L. Jackson has brought another emotional roller coaster to the table! My heart has been through the emotional wringer….. that counts as a successful read in my mind.

I love my heroes dark and broody with a chip on their shoulder…. Royce is all that… Add in a body covered in tattoos and you’ve got yourself a bad boy! I absolutely adored Royce and his protective alpha vibes. He’s lost loved ones in the past and he’s not about to lose another. This man is FIRE!! He’s a ticking time bomb just waiting to go off. He was everything I love about A.L. Jackson’s heroes.

Emily is your typical country girl. She’s the girl next door who wants to fall in love and start a family. She’s sweet with a feisty fighting side. This girl has also been through hell and back. She wears her fear as armor and that armor is her greatest enemy and the thing that’s been holding her back from what she wants the most. Her dreams of being a big star.

My heart flew through the pages of this novel. I was invested in Royce and Emily. I loved the push and pull, the endless array of emotions. The chemistry was charged up and beyond. I couldn’t get enough of the relationship vibes.

There were a few reasons why I dropped a star in my rating. There were a few moments in the novel that had me wanting a bit more detail. I felt the angst was there but in some situations the angsty details slightly covered up the moment at hand. Also, I needed a little more from the ending, and to avoid spoilers I’m just going to leave it at that. But aside from those opinions, I loved Royce and Emily! These two brought the spark, the lust, and the love to this story. My heart and soul bleeds for them.

Overall, Catch Me When I Fall is the reason why my heart searches for all the rock star/country artist/musician books on the market. I honestly can’t wait to see them come up as I continue this series. I’m excited to see where A.L. Jackson takes the characters of Carolina George next.
