Synopsis:

reverse harem (why choose), grumpy/sunshinemulticultural, small town romance from NY Times Bestselling author Lorelei James.

When passion turns into love, three is never a crowd.

A year of wedded bliss to sexy-as-sin cowboy Trevor Glanzer has gifted Chassie West Glanzer happiness and contentment she didn’t expect to find. But when Trevor’s old roping partner ambles up the driveway, Chassie’s life is thrown into chaos.

Trevor never expected to see Edgard Mancuso again, after it became clear he couldn’t be the man Edgard needed. Trevor is head-over-heels in love with his sweet, feisty wife, but with Edgard comes never forgotten feelings, and he is dreading Chassie’s reaction when she learns Edgard has returned to sort out their tangled past.

Edgard wasn’t sure how he’d feel about Trevor’s wife, but the more time he spends with the big-hearted cowgirl, the deeper their connection becomes. Soon the three of them test intimate boundaries together and discover old heartbreaks are no match for their unbridled hunger.

Is the newly formed threesome’s love strong enough to overcome the obstacles that threaten their future?

I’ve been waiting for Chassie, Trevor, and Edgard’s story since the first book in the series! Holy temptation! This novel was smoldering.

About Rough, Raw, and Ready:

Rough, Raw, and Ready is the fifth book in the Rough Riders series by Lorelei James. I have to add a small warning in here, if you don’t like menage romances with MM, MFM, MMF, and MF content you should probably pass on this novel.

Trevor and Chassie’s life isn’t perfect, but it is theirs and they wouldn’t change it for the world. But every once in awhile when Chassie is looking into her husband’s eyes, she sees something that scares the daylights out of her, the same thing she saw in her brother’s eyes. A feeling of being incomplete. When Edgard, a blast from Trevor’s past, shows up at their homestead, Trevor is slapped with a reality that he’s tried his damnedest to bury.

The hardest decision Edgard has ever made was to walk away from Trevor all those years ago. Since that moment, life hasn’t been the best to Edgard. He’s been searching for something that makes him complete. His mind keeps going back to Trevor and that’s how he finds himself on his old roping partner’s doorstep. He’s here to stake his claim, everything else be damned.

My Thoughts:

Trevor and Edgard caught my interest from the very first novel, Long Hard Ride, in the Rough Riders series. There was just something about their unfiltered passion that caught my attention. Usually when picking out what romance to read next, I gravitate towards M/F content. I’m not a huge fan of menage or Polyamory relationships when it comes to my reading material. I can see now, though, if the story is written the right way, I can be swayed into really loving this trope.

I loved everything about this novel, from the pure jealousy to the emotion, and then eventually watching Trevor, Edgard, and Chassie falling in love with one another. But most importantly I loved the unfiltered feelings all three characters felt. Their feelings felt raw and real. I couldn’t get enough of their connection!

And speaking of connections…. The sexual tension flowing through this novel had the power to catch my kindle on fire! This book was pure lust, love, and FIRE!!!

Chassie is as feisty as they come. I loved the fact that she didn’t have a filter and spoke her thoughts as they came to her mind. She showed true strength throughout this novel, but she was also the most fragile of the three. She had a lot on the line, not only her marriage but also her home and her farm. But she put everything on that proverbial line for the man she loves with her whole heart. And then watching Edgard break through her walls… I was literally a goner! Another main focus was the fact that Trevor and Edgard were complete opposites. Trevor was gruff and straight to the point, while Edgard was soft and sensitive. They were opposites that eventually balanced the relationship out.

This trio is one of my absolute favorites in this series. I can’t wait to see them pop up from time to time in upcoming novels!
