Lyla Summers hates men. Okay, maybe hate is a strong word … Lyla intensely dislikes men.
Her father has let her down her whole life. Her brother betrayed her in the worst way possible. And her past relationship experiences with men have been less than great.
Lyla is focussing all her energy into her band, Vintage, so when they receive an offer to sign with TMS Records, it seems that things are finally turning around for her. The last thing she wants is a man getting in the way.
Tom Carter loves women. Okay, love might be pushing it … Tom enjoys screwing lots of women.
When tragedy befalls his best friend, Tom finds himself making a promise to the big man upstairs – he’ll change his ways, if he saves the woman his best friend loves.
Tom’s prayer is answered. Now he has to change. Which means no sleeping around.
After Vintage’s manager breaks her leg skiing, Tom steps in as tour manager, and Lyla finds herself on tour with the man whore of rock.
Put one perpetually horny Tom and one sex resistant Lyla together, equals a recipe for disaster. Or so you’d think…
But an unexpected friendship is formed. A closeness neither of them expected. Putting one chastity belt and one lamp that is in desperate need of rubbing, to the test.
Will the sex storm that is Tom Carter, finally find himself tamed by the rock chick with a hardened heart, or will he go back to his womanizing ways…?

I didn’t think it would be possible to love a couple more than I loved Tru and Jake…. But the unthinkable has happened. My heart has crossed over to Tom and Lyla’s side!!!!
Taming The Storm is the third book in The Storm series by Samantha Towle. This is Tom Carter and Lyla Summer’s story and is told from both point of views.
Lyla is on her way to becoming the rock goddess she’s always saw herself as being. Every day is just another step closer to her dream and a life full of happiness. But her happiness is about to take a backseat when she catches her boyfriend in a heated moment with someone he definitely shouldn’t be with. Completely heartbroken, Lyla decides to focus on her career and leave dating and men in the dust. But when another wrench is thrown in the mix of her life, Lyla is forced to be in close quarters with an irresistible man slut, who also happens to be the bassist for The Mighty Storm, Tom Carter.
Tom Carter made a promise to god, he would change his man whoring ways if he could help his friend pull out of the coma she’s in from a serious car accident. The moment Tru wakes up is the start of something new for Tom. Now he’s found himself on a tour bus as Vintage’s tour manager. His promise to god is about to be tested when he sets his sights on the only woman who’s ever had the balls to turn him down, his firecracker, Lyla.
Throughout Tru and Jake’s story, there was always one character that laid heavy on my mind. One character who I wanted to get to know more of. One character that intrigued me to the point where I needed his story and I needed it now. That man being Tom Carter. There’s just something about a reformed manwhore trying to become a better version of himself that completely sparks my interest. I loved Tom from the very beginning.
I also loved Lyla. This rock goddess is fiesty and doesn’t put up with shit. The glimpses of her background we were given were all heartbreaking. It’s a wonder she finds it in her heart to trust anybody, let alone men. On one hand the endless banter and flirtation had me laughing hysterically. But on the other hand I was holding a crumpled tissue waiting for the tears to come, and believe me when I say, the angsty moments definitely had the tears flowing.
Overall,I’m trying to be as spoiler free as I possibly can because I don’t want to spoil this one for those who haven’t had a chance to read it. I’m a huge fan of the rockstar romance trope and I’m a huge fan of the first two books in The Storm series. Honestly, I had no clue what this book would bring. I knew it was Tom and Lyla’s story and I figured the sexy times where going to be endless. What I didn’t expect was for this novel to be so damn emotional. I didn’t expect Tom’s backstory to be so heartbreaking and I didn’t expect to love Lyla as much as I did. There was a whole bunch of unexpected moments that came from Taming The Storm. And honestly, this may just be my favorite book of the series! I can’t wait to continue on with the series!!
