This is my second time reading The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle. It’s been a long time and honestly I had forgot all the freaking drama that is wrapped up in Tru and Jake’s story. Holy hell was it an emotional roller coaster ride… all over again!

Trudy Bennett is living her best life. She’s living her dream as a music journalist, she has a caring boyfriend, and her best friend is kick ass. What more could a girl ask for? Oh that’s right, she also has a blast from the past sneak back into her life, causing an unlimited amount of chaos and making her second guess everything she thought she needed in life.

Jake Wethers has been through hell and back in the past year. His best friend and bandmate passed away causing him to drown his emotions in booze and drugs. Now a year later Jake is sober and reflecting on life. He’s got everything in his life that a man could want, except for the thing he let go when he was a teenager. His best friend. Tru.

What started as a simple interview soon turned into a long lost love story. Hearts are broken and relationships are shattered. Grab a box of tissues, you are definitely going to need them.

Years ago I fell down a deep dark and endless abyss called the rockstar romance trope! I remember jake and Tru’s story being my absolute favorite. After reading it for the second time I can safely say, it’s still one of my top favorites.

There is something about two kids that used to be best friends meeting up twelve years later and realizing that spark they once felt for each other never faded that sparks my interest and has me wanting more. And then when you add the fact that Jake is now a rock god and Tru has a serious boyfriend, something unreal, forbidden, and highly addicting takes place.

For the second time, I couldn’t put this book down! Sure, there were moments when I wanted to bitch slap Tru and junk punch Jake. But in the end, they eventually wore me down. My heart still breaks for Will…. Poor Will! But life has a miraculous way of working out in the end.

Overall, I’m still a fan! However, I felt a few scenes where rushed, especially towards the end. In the end though, this book was still as great the second time reading it as it was the first. I can’t wait to pick up the rest of The Storm series!!
