Synopsis:
For as long as I can remember, Easton Crews has been off-limits. As much as it kills me, that’s never going to change.
After his little disappearing act three years ago, then suddenly showing up out of nowhere, I shouldn’t want anything to do with him.
It doesn’t matter how beautiful he still is. Or how close we once were. It shouldn’t matter that my entire body lights on fire with need whenever he gets close.
He chose the worst possible time to leave without so much as a goodbye. However, just like the first day he walked into our home, I’m drawn to him, needing him near me just as badly as I need air to breathe, and I can’t stand it.
I want to hate him. I know I should hate him. But hating him is the last thing he’ll let me do. I push, he pulls harder, until I’m completely wrapped up in him, my mind lost in the one person who is forbidden—the one person I’ve always loved, even when he belonged to someone else. Easton was never meant to be mine.
It took me years to come to terms with that and now that I finally have, he’s here, right in front of me, more irresistible than ever.
The part I fear the most about that—he’s the one person capable of completely wrecking my world.
It’s been a long time since I sat down and picked up a novel written by Victoria Ashley and after finishing Wreck My World, I now remember what it was about this author that keeps me coming back for more. I felt connected to all of these characters on more than one level. Victoria Ashley paints a vivid picture that has you feeling like you’re on the outskirts looking in. I swear, all of these angsty novels I’ve been reading lately are going to be my undoing. My heart is so incredibly full right now after finishing this novel. It took me a day of sitting in one spot reading this book for me to truly be able to put it down. I was an addict looking for my next fix with the simple turn of a page. I couldn’t stop reading. I needed more.
Dakota Brooks is feisty as all hell! I loved the fact that she was a female mechanic. Working on motorcycles wasn’t just a job for her, it was a passion and her greatest hobby. But with her knowledge of engines comes incredible heartbreak. She became the best mechanic at her dad’s garage due to her best friend teaching her everything he knew about fixing things at a young age. A best friend who she thought she could always count on, until tragedy strikes and he packed up and abandoned her when she needed him the most.
My heart broke for Easton Crews throughout this whole story. As we are given bits of knowledge in the flashback chapters on why he left throughout the book, my heart broke more for him. Hello rock meet hard place. When tragedy strikes he’s willing to put his feelings on the back burner in order to protect Dakota’s reputation and her family from feuding by packing up everything and moving. Talk about having strength! This man has it in spades. Some may find his reasoning as moronic but I disagree. This man was selfless. He was also so unbelievably swoony at times. This man was absolutely everything I love in a book boyfriend.
Now, three years later, Easton is back to face an irate Dakota. This time he’s not walking away without a fight. He’s here to set things straight and fight for waist his heart has always wanted. And he’ll do everything in his power to see that Dakota is finally his by the end of the last paragraph. Even if it means facing an angry older brother who also happened to be his best friend.
There is so much emotion that came from this novel and so much tension, which made me love it that much more. All I wanted to do was see Dakota and Easton finally find their happily ever after, but as more flashbacks were exposed and more shit started to stack up between them, I seriously started to expect the unexpected. But in my heart of hearts I knew Victoria Ashley wouldn’t go down like that! I have to say, there were times when I wanted to punch all of the secondary characters in the face. Growing up together, they had to have caught the chemistry between Easton and Dakota, so why get in the middle…. And why try to force these two apart when they’re finally starting to reconnect again…. Seriously! I felt so much anger during these moments. It brought for some damn good drama!
Overall, I really loved this one! Victoria Ashley has done it once again. I’m an Easton Crews fan for life! There are so many reasons why I loved this one, motorcycle racing, the scorching chemistry, ugly cry moments, crazy sexual tension, raw emotion, plus a sexy as sin man who’s willing to do anything for the woman that owns his heart…. Seriously, what’s not to love about all that plus so much more! I highly recommend this one to everyone looking to get lost in a novel.
