Hello everyone and welcome to my first ever Lazy Sunday Post! I’ve decided to replace my typical WWW Wednesday Posts and my Monthly Wrap Ups with a weekly wrap up. The reasoning behind this is simple, I read over twenty books a month and in my monthly wrap ups I never have the time to talk about all the fantastic books I’ve read. I want to be able to have actual bookish conversations and not just post links to my reviews. I also decided to give WWW Wednesday a break because it would be repetitive to do two currently reading, just finished reading, and reading next posts in a week.
I’m not only going to talk about what I’m reading in this post. I’ll also be keeping you all updated on my bookish challenges I have set for myself this year. This post will also allow me to be more personal. I’ll dive into what movies I’m watching and what I’m bingeing on Netflix. I’ve been trying to find a way to be more open when it comes to blogging. I want to get to know you and I want you all to get to know me.
So let’s officially start this lazy Sundays post.
This Sunday hasn’t been so lazy for me. Mr. Man and I decided to spend the day outside and bask in the warm sunny day FINALLY It seriously feels like forever since I felt the sun on my skin. It was a long winter and I’m so happy to see it end! Today we decided to do yard work. We raked leaves and pulled out the grills. Mr. Man decided to do an oil change on the car and vehicle maintenance on the Jeep. We seriously accomplished a lot this weekend.
Now I’m sitting inside, all warm and cozy under a blanket, and finally being lazy…. that is until my laundry is ready to switch over..
But enough about my day, let’s get started with the good stuff like what I’m reading and what I’m watching!

I just started Balance by Lucia Franco. I’m going to be completely honest when I say the negative reviews on this novel have nearly talked me into not wanting to read it but the positive reviews outweighed the negative and that is why I’m taking a chance on my first ever Lucia Franco novel. I have always been a huge fan of gymnastics so I’m looking forward to getting a more in-depth view of the sport itself. I’m also very much into angst and from a few reviews I’ve read, this book is very angsty. I’m currently at the 27% mark and honestly, I can’t put this one down. I’m so glad I decided to take a chance on this new to me author. I’m starting to get to the hot and heavy moments. To be honest, I expected to be a little creeped out by the romantic situations in this novel given Kova (the coach) is in his thirties and Adrianna (the gymnast) is in her teen years. However, I’m not the least bit creeped out, I’m more intrigued by these two. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

The last book I finished was Wrecked And Reclaimed by Bink Cummings. You all haven’t lived your best reading life if you haven’t picked up an MC Romance by this author! I’m completely enamored by the grittiness that Cummings puts on the table. There is no one else like her. She’s raw and unfiltered. Wrecked and Reclaimed is NOT a standalone. To get the jist of this novel you have to read Wrecked and Restless first. I really loved every dynamic of this one, I loved the adrenaline and I loved the angst, but mostly I loved getting Kade’s whole backstory. This man legit broke my heart with everything he’s went through. I loved the fact that Rosie and Kade are so similar they were practically cut from the same clothe. Bink Cummings is a phenomenal author and this duet just goes to show how extremely addicting her storytelling is!

Execution by Lucia Franco is next up on my tbr, that is, if I have a good outcome with Balance, which I have a feeling I’m going to want to eat this book up after finishing Balance. I can’t tell you all what this one is about because I am keeping myself from reading the synopsis due to spoilers.

Friday night my boyfriend and I went out for a date night and saw the new Pet Sematary. There are so many negative things I want to say about this movie… but I’m going to leave it at, I’m an original girl when it comes to movie remakes. The new Pet Sematary had some great moments, but I wish they wouldn’t have changed so much. At the moment, If I had to give it a rating, I’d give it 3 Stars. It was okay….. Just okay.

I am such a nerd when it comes to setting challenges for myself. I find when I set challenges for myself I become more productive throughout the week. For 2019 I have set three challenges for myself. My goodreads challenge, my new-to-me authors challenge, and the author backlist challenge.

Every year I set a Goodreads Reading Challenge off 200 books. So far I’ve read 66 books out of 200 and I’m so excited to see that I’m ahead of schedule by 14 books! I still cannot believe I’ve read 66 books and we’re only into the fourth month of 2019!

My goal of 2019 is to read 3-5 new to me author’s every month. So that’s roughly one maybe two new to me authors a week. This week I listened to an audiobook by one new to me author. That being Renaissance Man by Tessa Bailey. I’ve learned I definitely need to find more books by Tessa Bailey for future reads. If you all have any recommendations leave them in the comments!

I started this challenge in January and so far I am loving it. For this challenge I decided to pick an author and follow their recommended reading order… Completely! The first author I chose was Jamie Begley. I’m now on Standing His Ground which is the second book in the Porter Brother’s trilogy and is the 20th book in Jamie Begley’s reading order! I only have six more books before I’ve officially finished this reading order.

My life has been so busy lately, I haven’t had the time to go to my local used book stores. This week I don’t have a book haul to share with you all so I thought why not share a couple of eArcs that I recently received for review purposes. Why not, right. YOLO!
Best Of Intentions by LK Farlow
Until Merri by Suzanne Halliday
Make Me by Tracy Wolfe
Until Mani by Rochelle Paige
Okay, I’m going to get back to reading Balance! Let me know in the comments what you all are reading and what you are loving in the streaming world. I’m seriously looking for some new shows to binge on, nothing is catching my interest at the moment.
Thank you for checking out my post! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the books above. Did you love them, where they just okay. Let me know!
Peace Love and Happy Reading,
