Synopsis:
Hunter
When my business partner asked me to do him a favor, I had no idea he was sending me on the blind date his mother had arranged for him.
I walked in the bar, saw the woman drinking her third martini, and knew I was in for an eventful night.
After the unexpected second date, she didn’t know my real name or who I really was. By that time, the lie was too far gone, and I wanted her too much to admit the truth.
Laney
It’s not every day you find out your ex-boyfriend is engaged.
I shouldn’t have agreed to the blind date, but I wasn’t in any position to turn down a night out when my mother insisted.
I will admit, I definitely shouldn’t have ordered that fourth martini before said blind date even arrived.
The man turned out to be swoon worthy, handsome, condescending— a perfect distraction.
Then I found out he was a liar.
I’ve never been in over my head to this degree.
Then again, I’ve never been mixed up in love.
When I started Mixed Up Love I had no idea what I was getting into, in fact the only thing I knew about this novel was that Natasha Madison wrote it an everything she writes is freaking amazing and addicting! Natasha Madison is a beast when it comes to writing epic love stories! I’m always wanting and needing more!
I love the premise of blind dates and I’m especially intrigued when you add in the fact that the potential blind dater has his buddy go in his place. You know this theme will only result in trouble but still I continue to read more, its my own form of pure emotional torture.
Mixed Up Love is an extremely fast paced read. This isn’t necessary a bad thing but for me I felt like Hunter and Laney’s relationship was way to instant. I would have loved a little more slow development where their relationship is involved.
In the end, I loved their relationship and I loved the way their relationship started. However I would have been happier had there been a little more subtext in between the beginning and the end. I wanted to feel more from these characters. I wanted more details and more of a growth in the beginning. I still love the premise on blind dates and what occurs when family members try to play matchmaker.
