Synopsis:

Life is a series of events, one leading you to another. The hell I lived through with my drug-addicted parents led me to the Marine Corps. Committing my life to my country was easy. My brothers were my family–all I had and all I needed. I wasn’t looking for her, but I should have known life had other plans.

It led me to her.

From the moment we met, I knew he was different–I just didn’t realize he’d change my life. He was a guy on leave, an acquaintance. Until he was something more, something unforgettable. I never imagined he’d leave ten days later, taking a piece of me with him. Then again, maybe I did know. I just didn’t care.

He was worth it.

“Love is a guiding factor, and if you let it pull you through, it will never steer you wrong.”

Pull You Through by Kaylee Ryan is the emotional journey of new relationships and the hardships that come along with dating someone who’s in the military. Slade and Austyn’s story is exactly how a love story should be written!

Pull You Through by Kaylee Ryan is told in two point of views. First we have Slade. Slade is the heartbreak of the story. This man has been put through more crap that most people can handle. At twelve years old his Grandmother received custody of him resulting in him never again seeing his parents. It’s always been him and her until tragedy strikes two weeks before his high school graduation. Now Slade finds himself broken and alone with no family. That’s when he decides to enlist in the Marines. A few months later, he’s still fighting his demons but he’s also come to find its the best decision he’s ever made. He now has friends who he has come to think of as brothers and a sense of stability. When his friend Brandon asks him to come home for leave he decides to accept, unknowing accepting will lead him to everything he never knew he wanted and needed.

“I’ve come to expect the worst, and long ago came to terms that welcome home hugs are not in my future, but standing here in the moonlight, on a small farm in Kentucky, I’m proven wrong.”

So, I may have shed a tear within the first chapter. This man, all he wants is a little love…IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK! Slade is a deeply emotional man who is trying to adjust to the family lifestyle that Brandon brings him home to. My heart broke for him never having experienced all the love that a family holds. The more time he spent with Brandon’s family, the more my heart started to mend. It was a bittersweet moment watching this man who had nothing try to learn how to accept everything. Seeing him learn the true meaning of  love and sacrifice for the first time was definitely heartwarming.

“What she doesn’t know is that I would follow her anywhere. I don’t know her, but my body’s reaction to her tells me that I need to.”

The more I dove into this novel the more it consumed me.

Now onto Austyn! Austyn was born to parents who love her unconditionally. She’s currently a new college student. With her looks and the fact that she’s a sweetheart she’s popular amongst the men. However, she’s not into players. She wants a man to cherish her just like her dad cherishes her mom. She wants her happily ever after and she won’t settle for anything less…even if her happily ever after involves a jaded Marine.

Austyn brings the sweet moments to this novel. I like to think of her as the strength. I also loved the softness that came with her character. Especially given the fact that Slade is kind of rough around the edges. Her softness evened his roughness out perfectly. I loved the hell out of Austyn and her ability to see the light through every situation. Her strength was uncanny and her spirit was the strongest I’ve ever seen. Even when she wanted to break she tried as hard as she could to hold it together.

I was fighting tears all through this novel. It was so damn sweet! I can now honestly say that Pull You Through is my favorite Kaylee Ryan novel!  I couldn’t get enough! I highly recommend this novel to all those looking for a love story that is true to the heart and made for the soul!
