Wow! I am completely blown away by this novel.
I’ve always been intrigued by the whole ‘snowed in’ theme. So when I first started reading Storm, I was completely addicted to this story.
Evelyn is a woman in a loveless relationship. She lives in denial of thus relationship she’s had since she was fourteen years old. After losing her parents, Michael was the only one that she could lean on. Now the tables are about to turn. She also suffers from Anxiety which gives this novel and her character a little something extra.
Storm is the lead guitarist for the band Ashes & Embers. He’s suffered through a heartbreaking past. I honestly don’t blame him for being the closed off bastard that he is.
All Storm wanted was to get away from the world for a few days. He craved the silence. That all comes to a crashing halt when the woman in front of his truck swerves out of control and finds herself ditch bound in the middle of a blizzard. Being the type of man his parents raised he can’t let her freeze out in the middle of nowhere so he offers his help.
Evelyn has suffered through anxiety and panic attacks since her parents passed away years ago. So when she finds herself in a ditch with a homeless looking man knocking on her window, she does what any normal woman would do. She screams.
I loved how completely opposite Storm and Evelyn where. I also loved the hidden element of the unknown when it came to Evelyn being in the dark about who Storm really was.
When Storm’s truck slides off the road the two find themselves snowed in. I really enjoyed this first half of the novel. I got a sense of who the characters truly were without any outside distractions. I loved watching the chemistry slowly build between Evelyn and Storm.
Throughout the second half of the novel I started to get a little annoyed with Evelyn. Everyone could see how much of a douche Michael (Evelyn’s BF) was but her. With novels like these I usually have sympathy towards the wronged party. But this novel I was totally and 100% TEAM STORM.
I cannot wait to see where this series goes! I am intrigued by all the mentioned characters and cannot wait to get my hands on their stories!
Peace Love and Happy Reading,
