Lyrik West has been through the ringer. He doesn’t take the word Loyalty lightly, in fact, it’s the number one thing he prides himself as being. Nothing but Loyal. Years ago he made a promise that he would never give his heart away to another. That the person he made the promise to would always hold it tight. Now after meeting a feisty bartender, he is constantly fighting the pull that his heart is demanding.
Tamar King had it all, and then she took a chance and fell in love, with the devil. After a tragic past she’s made a promise to herself that she will never let her heart get away from her. She’ll never trust another man for as long as she lives. Four years later and now she is hiding from everything that she used to be. But secrets always have a way of catching up with you.
Throughout the first two novels in the Bleeding Stars series I was intrigued by one person and that was Lyrik West. His edge drew me in. I wanted to see what made this man tick and what the reason behind him being so guarded was. His reasoning blew me away.
Then we have Tamar, the feisty bartender, who Lyrik has nicknamed Red. I was also intrigued by her character and what she was hiding from. I sensed a deepness to her character that also drew me in and made me want to learn more. I was not expecting Tamar’s background story to be so harsh. If there ever has been a time I thought a character deserved a hug, this was definitely that time.
I loved the hell out of Lyrik and Tamar. My heart shattered for these two characters. I said this about A Stone in the Sea but this novel seriously gave me ALL THE FEELS! Tears were cried, Laughs were heard, and cuss words were thrown around. What more could I possibly want out of a novel!
I have no clue what A.L. Jackson is going to bring to the table next. But from what I learned with the previous three books, each book gets heavier and angstier. I am prepared…Bring On AUSTEN!!!
