Title: Pucked Off
Series: Pucked
Author: Helena Hunting
Genre: Sports Romance
Release Date: February 21st, 2017 (TODAY)
My Rating: 5 Stars!

Synopsis:

A Standalone novel in The Pucked Series

I’m NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance “Romance.”

I’m notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I’m a player on and off the ice. I’m the one women with no inhibitions want.

Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way.

I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.

At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark.

I shouldn’t want her.

But I do.

I should leave her alone.

But I won’t.

***I was given a copy of Pucked Off by Helena Hunting to read and review***

Pucked Off is not what I expected….It’s so much more!

From the first time Lance ‘Romance’ Romero was mentioned in the pucked series I have been intrigued by his character. I wanted to know his story but mostly i was excited to see the notorious playboy of the team settle down and give away his heart.

Pucked Off gave me something I was not expecting. I went into this novel with Alex and Violets awkward humor still in my head so what i wasn’t expecting was the sudden dark turn this series had taken and honestly I loved that about it.

With a nickname like ‘romance’ you can’t help but think this man is a notorious playboy…but as we learned in the previous novels sometimes pictures can be deceiving and you can’t believe everything the Puck Bunny’s post.

Lance doesn’t like to be touched and given his shitty childhood I can see why. That is until he meets Poppy.

Poppy is a massage therapists, after Lance gets into a bar fight his trainer sends him to Poppy’s clinic. Of course with the whole not liking to be touched issue Lance has reservations on going and almost refuses until his trainer threatens to bench him in the next game. Poppy has had to encounters with Lance. One when she was eleven and one that took place last year but she isn’t about to let him know that Lance was her first kiss in one and in the other he had a drunken night of lust…with her friend.

I am so in love with Lance and Poppy’s story and after binge reading the whole series this week I can honestly say they are my new favorite! I was completely addicted by this story, it has everything a little darkness and a whole hell of light. I loved the fact that Poppy was Lance’s light. After all this time he finally found REAL love.

One thing about this novel I feel i have to point out. The level of emotion that Lance showed in ‘The Scene’ was crazy intense. I have never cried while reading a male character break down but given Lance’s situation in a few certain scenes I couldn’t help but shed a couple of tears. He was very emotional and I loved that about him. I was not expecting this much emotion!

Top February Read!
